Beverly Lowell Legion 389/750

Post by rickoshay »

Beverly Lowell Post 389/750 to play host to Zanesville Post 029 Tue. eve. 6-17 at Beverly.
These games always seem to be a high scoring battle with several lead changes.
If you're not doing anything, come to Beverly for a good evening of baseball. Eat out at the ballpark. Burgers, Hot dogs, Drinks, etc.
This game is also scheduled to be on WJAW FM 100.9

Game day at Beverly.
Game time six o'clock.
Great place to watch a game.
Bring a lawn chair, or use the "Reds" seats.

This young group is starting to gel. Timely hitting to go along with "great pitching" has spelled early season success. Highman, Brockmier, and Stevens have done a great job on the mound. While G. Proctor, Brockmier and Tate are all hitting .500 or better, but it seems like everyone on the team is contributing with key hits and great defensive play. The coaching staff has done a very good job handling these young kids.

Ohio Valley, in Parkersburg.

He was our catcher all year (caught every inning), but will likely move back to first base when he gets to college.

BL suffered their first setback this evening 6-3 to Tuscarawas County. BL held a 2-1 lead going into the 7th inning but were unable to close it out. Hate to see a loss but it will help mold this young team. Play a DH tomorrow.

the schedule i received didn't have many home dates on it. Next one is June 26th according to that schedule. Have there been changes?

Of 29 days to play on schedule (not counting Dist. tourney ), we only have eight home dates. This is way to much travel for local fans to make at $4.00+ a gallon for gas.

BL ended the weekend with a 2-4 record. Should have been 3-3 at worst, possibly 5-1 with timely hitting. Only Weirton was obviously better. They had a stud pitcher (rumored to be going to Penn State) and a serious attitude for hitting the baseball.

BL is a very young squad that just can't get the big hit when they need it. They played very solid defense and got 3 great starts from Highman (2) and Brockmeier (1). The future looks bright for this team. A great group of kids.
