Do you think that Ironton will bounce back from last year

Post by callmespidy »

Ironton will be really good next year! Besides there record last year doesnt mean anything at all. They lacked leadership last season. The sophmore class ran the team last year with pancake, oleary, lucas, preston and wetzel. It was a rebuilding year for all sports. They should make a run in football, basketball and football this year.

The leadership they lacked started at the TOP. There has to be discipline on a ball team and someone has to be willing to be the "bad guy" and enforce it.

Well everyone that will be on our team this year will have varsity experience and I think we will be better off than last year. When last year there was only about 4 players with varsity experience.

the final record was 6-20 and most of the losses came in shootouts playing at the DOW fields and homeruns were flying out like crazy.

a lot of the guys you mentioned being sophmores last year were strong hitting guys, maybe not batting average, but power. ironton should have some heavy hitters this year since they are all juniors

i was only able to see ironton play twice last season but they have some guys who can hit for a pretty good average and like you mentioned they have alot of power. i think it will hurt losing oleary because he is an excellent hitter and plays solid defense in the infield, but there should be some guys that will step up and make a difference.

You have to admit that the inmates kinda ran the asylum, on the varsity at least, last year.
