This game could go either way. I picked NC in the pool but if there was a choice of "It's too close to call". I would of picked it.

I admit I may have been a little tough on the Tornadoes. They played really well in the district championship and showed why they are 27-0. Congrats to them and I wish them luck. Go represent the TVC with pride. With that said I am picking Newark Catholic, based solely on the idea that it seems they have win this regional every year.

It's been a great run for Southern and they've done very well but the run will end. They've run out of TVC teams to play in the tournament and as mentioned above NC seems to win this all the time.

Out of your 207 posts ... Have any of them ever been positive? Just curious.

The law of large numbers finally comes into play with this match up, and a Southern win is long overdue. Southern finally has the pitching depth to get over the hump with the Green Wave. I hope that I get the chance to go watch a TVC team play in the state semi-finals. Good luck to the Tornadoes.

As good as Ryan Taylor is Steely Dan - Newark Catholic will probably be able to get some hits and probably some runs versus the Tornadoes ... The keys to the game will revolve around whether or not Southen can score runs themselves ... Getting behind early (like they did against Eastern) is probably not a good idea - but if it does happen - not getting down or frustrated will be parimount.

Fairfield Union was down 4-0 with 1 out in the 7th inning versus Athens and still came back and won - those kids never waivered, you could see it in their eyes and their actions as each player came to the plate ... Hopefully Southern carries the same attitude into the game next week and keeps it until the final out is recorded whether they are winning or losing.

The top team in the bracket is the home team.

It looks like they are going off past years instead of this year. I guess 27-0 doesn't mean anything? GO TORNADOES KEEP ROLLING!

No this predermined before the season. They rotate it year to year. They also rotate the match ups. Here is a link for the past 4 tournaments.
