3-4 year to produce what? State Title? Regional Title? Winning record? What is it you are searching for?

If you haven't figured it out yet, this is high school baseball, not college or MLB. While you are paid to hopefully (win) games, it's very difficult today with open enrollment and just the shear fact that some kids are just not good at baseball or what to get better at the game. They may enjoy football or basketball, etc better and play baseball cause it's a filler or just fun.

Coaches are put into tough spots and it takes longer than 3-4 years to build a program at the high school level. If coaches leave on their own power after 2 years then that tells me their heart isn't in the game. If they are not rehired for the next season by the administration, then that tells me the admin want something that no one is going to be able to do in 1-2 years, and that is build a successful program.

All we want is a winning record and to be completive in the SEOAL. To build a program you need to start at the youth level and develop the talent and YES a coach must taste and want it!

Well said!
I agree with EVERYTHING you said Logangrad.
It takes time and herd work to build or rebuild a program. It also takes talent and kids who are willing to work hard.

pfloyd, To add to your points, the city and County must improve the summer youth program we have started this process and must continue it's development! We need to develop a Jr high program, I understand few school has Jr. high or school teams. Continued improvement and development with stability will produce results

Is there any word yet on who the new Warren Local coach will be?

Chesapeake job is open as well.

This team has all but one starter returning, none of which are seniors. Very strong pitching and a core group of players that have a lot of ability. This group of Juniors and Sophomores is ready to make a lot of noise with the right leadership. They should be right at the top of the OVC and should find themselves playing meaningful games in May in Chillicothe. Let's hope the right person for the job finds their way to the Peake!

Go Peake
