The die is cast, indeed, for a District Title and a trip to Cincinnati Princeton. NC “jumps” into FC’s bracket; the Wave have scouted FC eight times this year (including four times before the draw), and are looking to continue their Decade of Dominance over the Irish.

Lots of pain over the years with obvious hard feelings this year... two sister schools and their programs enter the ring Thursday at FC, one will come out.

Quality wins for NC: Granville, Utica, Ridgewood, Lakewood, Pickerington Central

Quality wins for FC: DeSales (who knocked out Granville and Utica), Amanda-Clearcreek, Meigs

Hair will be flying in this one! This game is what high school baseball is about.

Yes, sir!

May 20th, 2005 -- last time Fisher beat NC in baseball, last time FC won a district title. NC is 11-0 against Fisher since then, and the Irish have gone 0-9 in district titles since then. So too often, our misfortunes then have come down to one play or one "thing."

Not this year.

Good luck to FC. We scrimmaged them early in the year, and the eyeball test (plus results on the field) told me that they were a very solid team and might make some tourney noise! Get past that hump.....

9-5, good guys.

First batter of the game getting walked, but then immediately hosed stealing 2nd on an 0-0 count (NC); a 2-run blast into the pine trees (FC); back-to-back sac flies in the second inning (NC); 2-out passed ball on a 1-2 count scoring a run (FC); getting the bases loaded up on no outs, but not being able to get a guy in (FC); 2-out, 2-RBI double to tie the game at 4's in the top of the sixth (NC); sophomore pitcher, coming into relief, K's 3 of the first 4 batters he sees (FC); five-run at-bat in the bottom of the 6th (FC)

Held NC's 8, 9, 1, 2, 3, and 4 hitters to 3-for-19 batting. That helps, a LOT.

Thanks for the support, everyone. Means everything, to everyone, up here to see the demons of the past eliminated.

Good for the Fishers. Newark Catholic should play in the Christian school league like Ohio Valley Christian. They'd be a lot better off
