BURG VS MINFORD 6/3/21 1:30pm

Post by Bleeding Red »

Another big matchup between these 2 rivals that match up very close in comparison.

It is extremely hard to beat a good team 3 times in a season but Minford has a lot of deep tournament run experience on their squad.

Vogelsong will undoubtedly be on the mound for Minford after shutting out Meigs last night at the VA. Minford will have to get the bats out early and put pressure on Burg's defense. The bats came out big for Minford last night but it wasnt until late in the game when Minford broke the scoreless tie and started putting runs on the board.

I will take Minford over Burg, 5-4.

Thoughts?

I saw on an earlier thread that Vogelsong’s record is 2-2 vs Burg with both W’s coming this season. Should be a great game. Does anybody know if it will be streamed or on the radio? I gotta work that day.

Interesting...Looks like this one will be the tie breaker either way

Yes his first two starts during regular season lewis lost his freshman and sophomore years but then last year canceled. This year he started both games and beat burg twice. This will be his third time on the mound this year against his rival. It’s hard to beat a team three times in a year but we will see 6/3. Lewis is a great kid and pitchers.this game wil be a good one and see if he ends his career against burg with a winning or losing record. Like I said both team will be pumped and should be a good game to watch

Minford the favorite with Vogelsong. Burg going to have to construct runs. I think burg needs to put up at least 3 runs to have a chance

This will be a great game like the first two were. Anxious to see how the extra time in preparation plays out on both sides. Seeing Vogelsong for the 3rd time is a plus, but having the long layoff between games rough on everyone. Hard to replicate the top pitching in practice. Vogel being a southpaw and such a top athlete cuts down the smallball attack a little bit, but I agree manufacturing runs will be the key.

Who does burg give the ball to? Robson or Ison? Minford has seen them both.

Man, I wish this game was in the evening under the lights instead of right in the middle of a work day! Should be a great game and winner will be decided by the team that plays the cleanest in the field. Good luck to both teams*

Anyone there with an update? Gamechanger hasn't updated in over 15 minutes. I'm assuming weather delay?

1-0 Minford into the bottom of 4.

And what does the OHSAA have against Wheelersburg? Seems like Burg is always getting the shaft.

Minford 2
Wheelersburg 0

I know it didn’t matter in the end, but that poster that talked crap about Vogelsong-Lewis before the first meeting sure was a bit off about that.

20 innings, 2 ER, 29 K and 3-0 in the 3 meetings this year

He seemed to dominate Burg this year. Heck of a player.
