Beavers hasn’t been shy to nix games with rain issues this year. Not a complaint: it is, after all, his field.

Plus there were other regions, such as Region 16 @ Princeton, that called it this morning. So, I think OHSAA basically shut all of the regions down today for fairness. And to head off “fairness?!?!?!”, if this regional was postponed but the one up northwest (Region 14/Patrick Henry) wasn’t, that would mean their final four representative could have its coaching staff come down and get eyes on their opponent in the state semi’s.

EDIT: ignore my comment in the second paragraph. Me, an idiot, overlooked that there are actually a couple regional tournaments statewide playing today. Including the bizarre fact Barnesville/Fredericktown is playing a day after Minford/Burg?

Also, I bet it won't be on Chillicothe radio. Mike Smith retired. WKKJ can't get the scores on there until two days later now.
I played there in college. Turf infield but grass outfield and it sits in a bowl and holds water
I have played there too Bubba. It does not hold that much water.
Formerfcfan is probably correct.

I’m actually wrong on the second paragraph I wrote. But, right on what I first said: he’s erred on the side of caution, and protection, really hard this year with water. Two different schools up my way rent the facility, and both of them had games called off around 9am even when the forecast wasn’t looking completely awful.

While we’re here, annual reminder: They switched it to artificial turf on the mound which requires molded cleats or turf shoes (don’t want metal spikes landing in the same spot with a twisting motion indefinitely).

Congrats to Valley. Wouldn't it be something for the SOC II if both Valley and Minford could win a state title in 2 different divisions

Obviously I was pulling for Coach Combs and PV, but I’m still excited for Coach Crabtree and the Indians.

I believe they’ll give Hiland everything they want! Good luck!
