VALLEY versus VanWert Lincolnview State Semis

Post by The Nature Boy »

Valley made it through. Their competition they played this year and hard work has paid off. It was surprising to some because Valley wasn't talked about much. They were kinda the sleeper team. It's good to see as Valley has a lot of good baseball tradition and history. Go for it Indians and bring home the gold trophy.
Anybody know about VanWert?

Best player in Division IV is their pitcher, a lefty going to Ohio State. 100K’s, ERA of .00

Congratulations to the Valley Indians on making the Final 4.

I remember my senior year at Portsmouth HS (1975) when Valley won the state championship with Howard Harness as one of the star pitchers on that team. That was 2 years after Portsmouth East won the state championship with Lowell Welch as one of their top pitchers.

Where did Valley finish in the SOC II? I know Minford won it and Burg was 2nd I believe but I dont remember seeing final results in the conference.

Good luck this weekend

And East won it a year after Ironton won AA State Championship behind Jerry Murnahan and Sticks Collins
Good luck Indians from ISJ Flyers

4th behind Minford, Burg, Waverly.

I think the comparisons aren’t there, while the Indians played those teams tough(outside 1 game) I think it’s worth noting they are undefeated against DIV teams this season. Playing in the SOC II has vastly contributed to this run, and the Indians have always had a solid staff from the Schuler era into the Crabtree era. While this team has some seniors they also have a lot of younger talented players, and this team will be around to make noise in the SOC, as well as the tournament.

Good luck to the Indians this weekend…go win the darn thing!

SOC II was a tough conference this year. 3 teams in the regionals says it all.
