Current score/inning?
Lead-off for Burg reached; sac bunt and another out. 2 outs, runner on second 0-0 and HC put Burg’s four-hole on. From there the bricks just tumbled down on HC pitching.

Two outs with the lower half of the order coming to bat and managed to put up six? That HC coach must be going nuts.

t5 7-4 Burg; HC runners on 1st and 2nd, 2 outs; pitching change for the Pirates.

Burg evades further margin erosion via Fly-out to RF.

B5 7-4

t6 7-4 WB

One of the sloppier games this field has seen in regional action. Leadoff hitter for ‘Burg in the 5th gets plunked on first pitch, sac bunt isn’t fielded right and throwing error puts runners on the corners. Third batter hits a hopper to 3B, runner on 3rd goes home; throw fired to home, retreat backwards with runner from 1B taking 3B and both runners get tagged out at 3rd.

Agree. Harrison comes in at apprx 16-12 record and played Eastern (low seed) while Wheelersburg and Valley played yesterday at 4 and 5 seeds. There needs to be a re-seeding at district and regional levels and games need to be closer together for Sectionals. This would eliminate teams that ride 1 pitcher through the district.

t6 8-7 HC; 1 out runner on 1b; Mound visit; pitching change

b6 8-7 Huskies; I believes it’s 2-3-4 in the order for ‘Burg? Lead-off single, hard grounder 8 feet to the 2nd baseman’s right side.

Burg can do no further damage.

t7 8-7 HC

Leadoff hitter HBP on first throw; one of the sillier (unofficial) double plays turned, because leadoff hitter from HC (still on 1B) forgot the rule on dropped third-strike.

b7 8-7 HC

6-7-8 for Burg in the order?

Back-to-back singles to lead off. Runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs. Pitching change for the Huskies; their fourth arm of today’s contest.

Sac. Runners moved to their next stations. 1 out

Backwards K. 2 outs. 8-7 HC, Burg 2 RISP.

Groundout.

You can't ride one pitcher through the districts. Games are two days apart. Regional is back to back days.

A little surprised Burg didn’t go for the squeeze. Only needed one run to extend it. Given how hot it was, how long the game ran and the general nerves, chaos would in theory have worked for Burg there.

Did they bunt the runners to second and third?

Single, single, sac to push them to 2B and 3B.

Really tough loss. Wonder if Burg got complacent due to the early big lead.

Should have said TO the districts and 1st game into. I'm saying Sectionals should be closer to the district games.
