Gallipolis won the first game and was up 5-4 in the fifth inning of the second game.

Jottings...Just like in baseball today, Gallia Academy gets softball sweep of Jackson today

Game 1 was GAHS 8, Jackson 2

Game 2 was GAHS 9, Jackson 5, 8 innings

These were Jackson's first games of the season

Great place to watch a game. Looks like it will be nice when totally finished, umps kinda stunk it up though(IMO).
Lucky to come away with both wins. Jackson has improved and the Blue has yet to gel. The South may get interesting this year.
As always -GO BLUE!!

I knew the ball would fly out of that field.....3 HR today....one caught a little wind and went off the top of the fence...other two were just line drive HR...impressive.

Jackson lost on Tues to Minford 4-1 and defeated Rock Hill Tues 3-1

Today's games were not Jackson's first.

gahs4ever and Ironman 92....Yes, Jackson did play two games before the two with Gallia Academy on Saturday. I know, because I had them in the paper DUH.

I don't know what I was thinking with that previous post. Charge me with an error LOL

I copied my baseball post for Jottings, altered the first line and the scores to indicate the GA sweep, and forgot to delete that last line. It was the baseball team's opening two games.

Jackson is 1-3 after Saturday's softball games.

One of the worst officiated games I've seen. It was bad both ways. Near the end of the second game they kept looking at their watches.....I suppose they were concerned they were about to miss basketball tipoff on Saturday evening. I'm so sorry they felt they had to be dishonest IN ORDER TO NOT MISS AN NCAA SEMI-FINAL GAME.

What impressed me the most was Gallia Academy was on the wrong side of some close calls and their girls just kept going at it.....didn't even phase them. The coaches did the arguing and the fans put their opinions out there.....but the players just shrugged it off.

I LOVE the NCAA tourney....but I'm not convinced the umps made calls based on missing part of the Mich St/ Butler game. Not sure how any of those calls sped the game up....if anything that made the games go longer as for the time spent questioning/arguing.

gahs4ever..........It was nice talking to you yesterday (Saturday) too.

You're right. About the only time I see you anymore is in the spring in Jackson.

I'll have to make the trek down Route 35 to your neck of the woods and we can grab lunch at the original Bob Evans.
