SEOAL 2014

Post by warrior90 »

Well its a new year. Warren and Jackson should both be tough and will be ready to challenge for the league and district titles. I think they will be the favorites. Logan, Gallia and Portsmouth will also be tough. Ought to be a great year once again. I know the Warren girls are ready to go to Portsmouth to play on the new field.

New Warren head coach Jenny Lynch has 8 returning starters from last years team. They are experienced and have set some lofty goals for this years team. Good luck to all the teams.

I think the league should be represented very well!!! Losing Chillicothe was a big hit to what is a quality team for the next few years..
Ready for the CHESS GAMES between coaches to start and see the talented teams work their ways to the TOP. A few different coaches, WOW, 3 new coaches in a 5 team league is a lot. Will have to study the strategic planning to find a counter attack.. :) just like the games within the game..

Concern down Portsmouth way ------ How is the NEW field coming?
------ Are all players still playing after earlier issues.. Hate hearing the words being thrown out there.. Hope it things didn't really take place... Best of luck in the SEOAL to ALL squads.. SEE YA SOON!!! :)

Regional Finalist Jackson returns 7 starters from last year and have improved their depth. Numbers are up and both JV and varsity will have ample depth and a lot of potential "chess" games.

Jackson returns 7 starters who all greatly contributed to last year's run but did lose 2 4-year starters, 3-year captains and multi-time all- SEOAL players. Two vocal defensive stalwarts with one always being pesky and getting on base and the other a line drive RBI machine.

Jackson's offense should become very potent with a lot of power and pinch-hitters will be ready. Jenkins, in her 2 seasons has been excellent and she keeps improving. Everyone will have to step up a touch but it's there for a 3rd straight very special season.

Schedule again is very brutal. Open the season with back-to-back games versus Conkey and McManaway.

Warren won the SEOAL by 3 games last year and return everyone but the LF. Incredible team speed. They've won/shared the last titles....

Gallia Academy ended up 5-5 and 4th last year but were in nearly every game...I'll be surprised if they don't play a significant role in all of this.

Logan's young players have a lot of games under their belt and they play well on their field. Huntsberger has been at the helm twice as long as the other 4 combined.

Portsmouth has some really good players and keep improving every year...not sure of the issues but I wouldn't dare overlook them.

Any scrimmages out there yet by the SEOAL teams. Warren had one with Fed hocking that went very well. The coach mixed in Varsity and JV players throughout the scrimmage. Both JV and Varsity looked strong. Fed Hocking will do good in their league as well. They did not match Warrens varsity very well but they play good defense and seem to have some good athletes. Weather permitting Warren is to scrimmage Fort Frye on Friday and Logan Elm on Saturday.

JACKSON....

Thurs....scrimmaged Zane Trace
Friday....scrimmaged Huntington Ross
Saturday....scrimmaged Notre Dame

Faced 3 straight pitchers who have led their teams to the regionals.

Zane Trace was really on their game....looked very very good

....,and then open Monday vs Minford and follow the next day against Wellston facing two of the elite pitches in the entire district
