I heard Unioto's first scrimmage is this Saturday. Not sure of the time, I would think 11:00. And possibly a double header against Minford. Also heard Westfall's senior pitcher hasn't come to practice yet. Can anyone confirm these? I'd like to see a good ball game this weekend. Minford should be tough again this year.

Man that's some good Bar-B-Q
If it is who all will be there and what time does it start?

Field #1 and Field #2?
I only know of One field, the one down by the bus garage with the questionable foul/light poles.

There was another field behind the football field but I thought those dugouts got blown over during the straight line wind storm of 2011.

So where is field 1 and field 2?
Do you still have Rip Van Sleeper running the score board?
He still owes the U a few runs from last year.
And That's Ok, we will take them upfront this year!

Great day for softball and several very competitive games... Although it was just the 1st scrimmage. Paint Valley looked really good and Newland is as good as advertised! Zane Trace struggled to hit it consistently, but still looked as good as expected. Huntington was missing our seniors (senior trip) bit had a great opportunity to look at some of our young talent and give them some much needed quality innings... everyone still has a long way to go before opening day!

Chillicothe looked real bad. They've gone downhill quickly. Could be easy-pickens for the SVC teams that play them in the first week or so.

Don't be fooled, i understand that an ace pitcher wasn't there due to another school commitment.. Wouldn't say that it would make a big difference in ALL situation, but she has played alot of ball for me and she is definitely a difference maker for a squad's defense...

Both Minford and Unioto have strong programs, had a good scrimmage with one another. Unioto defeated Minford last season 12-2, but the Lady Falcons picked up the scrimmage win. After 7 innings, Minford led 3-1. Coaches decided to play to 10 innings and the Falcons was able to get all their subs in for a 11-8 win.

Very little word is out on the SVC,
everybody seems to be playing this preseason pretty close to the vest.
Heck finding regular season SVC Schedules is next to impossible
let alone getting the scoop on pre season scrimmages.

From the word I'm hearing Paint Valley looks to be the most improved squad from last season. Have they improved enough to contend for the title? Some are saying yes.

X,
Maybe you should move to the SHAC, the new coach at Lynchburg doesn't mind sharing their gameplan according to the Times Gazette.
“This team did not hit very well last year,” Roberts said of the team’s inability to score runs last year. “We have been working on that part of their games a lot and I think this year will be better. We have a total of five slappers In our lineup with the rest being more of a power hitter type. I think we are a very quick team and I think we can use that to our advantage this year. We want to be able to play aggressive small ball against teams and I think with our speed, we will be able to be successful at that.”

Sorry for the highjack. :122245

Huntington is at Wheelersburg tonight for a scrimmage (if the weather cooperates) and we are scrimmaging Jackson on Friday! Both should help us get ready for a VERY TOUGH 1st week of the season.

Thanks for the invite but the X is like the SVCSportsZone,
100% SVC
100% 0f the time.

I will remain patient and let the games shake it out
but man this about like waiting on Christmas.

The Sherman's start the SVC at Zane Trace
and follow up with a Westfall at home.
Safe to say the scheduling gods were not showing any favor
To the Back to Back SVC Champs.
Does anybody start the league out with two tougher games?
Regardless I'm confident my Lady Sherman's, the Pride of Frenchtown,
Will represent the Union Scioto School District and the X very well.

Hhssoftball- glad your back in action,
only a true buddy shows up regardless of the hoodie they are wearing :)

Fullcountjitters- sounds like ZT is gelling quicker this season.

Piketon is still the enigma, I have heard of the new coach
but it has not been made SEOPs official yet.

SVC by birth
Unioto Sherman by the grace of God
X
