Ok this thread has over 5000 views but I feel like I'm typing to my self most of the time.

So let's hear some differing opinions on the BIG Regional match-up between SVC foes Zane Trace and Huntington.

We all are well aware of the exceptional play of Lytle and Geno, so let's hear some talk on the supporting  casts.

Who are the seniors on both rosters?
Any Freshman starting?
Any players playing new positions?
Who are the unsung heroes that have done their part
(No matter how big or small) to help get their teams
To this crucial point in the tournament?

I'm really torn in this match-up
I like both coaches and the job they have done this season.
Trace started out slow with a killer schedule, but those tough
Times seem to have paid dividends now.
Some had Huntington as low as finishing 7th in the league this year.
Well not me I knew these gals were capable of doing big things this season.

SVC fans what say U

X

What a tournament run for the SVC! Shows the strength of our conference and the quality players that we have! First, let me congratulate Coach Bennett and the Lady Pioneers, definitely deserve to be where they are! I am also very proud of my Lady Huntsmen and the effort, dedication, and show of character throughout this tournament run. However, I assure you that we are not content and are going to Lancaster prepared for another battle against another quality team! As for the Lady Huntsmen, we start 2 freshman, 3 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 3 seniors (one of which is a DP). We have had numerous young ladies step up in big spots, but Senior Maisie Hurless has had 2 final inning heroics, both in the district games. Senior Logan Hutson has also had big hits for us! Defensively, we have played very solid and have been able to overcome the limited mistakes we have made! I look forward to a very good, well played game in Lancaster and hope the LADY HUNTSMEN have a couple more in them!

Thanks HHSSoftball for the post.

Well nothing from the Kinikinck folk.

Coach Bennett must have had placed a gag order
On all SEOPs comments on this match-up.

I can't remember the last time I was looking forward this much
To a game not involving my Sherman's.
The big match up is less then 24 hrs away.

Best of luck to all players, coaches, parents, family and friends of both
Teams.

Great game today in Lancaster between the  SVC squads of Zane Trace and Huntington.

Both teams had improved greatly since the last time I watched them play.

Huntingtons bats were poppin a lot more then I remembered from regular season and Traces defense looked nearly flawless.

Great Tourney run lady Huntsmen, I look for the Ladies of the Kelly Green to have more of these in the coming years.

Trace has gelled at the right time, I thought Fry had a very strong game behind the plate and of course Saultz at the plate.

Great run by the SVC in tournament play, and its not over yet! I would like to thank the young ladies that I had the privelege to coach this year... It was indeed my honor! These are some of the finest young ladies I have ever had the opportunity to be associated with. The class, dedication, and desire they not only played with, but live by is remarkable! Logan Hutson, Maisie Hurless, and Kelsey Watters will be missed greatly and have set the standard by which Huntington softball will be measured. Would have surely liked to get the win last night, but Zane Trace played and excellent game and "EARNED" the win. Good luck to John and all the girls and I for one will be wearing my red, white, and blue on Saturday pulling for a Zane Trace win! Would love to go to Akron supporting a conference team!

Great season of SVC softball.

Next season looks to be even better as all the top pitchers of the league return.

League Champs Unioto will need to replace three seniors, all of which have been starters since their freshman year.

Zane Trace needs to replace two, who were key players as well

Huntington has Three to replace.

I'm not sure on Westfall or Piketon but Adena will lose a bunch to graduation.

I think it will be a 5 way dog fight for the title next season:
Unioto, Trace, Huntington, Westfall and Piketon will all have a say in who wins the league.

Paint Valley will be the team that improves the most with the addition of Newlund to the rotation.

Southeastern will still be a year out from being top tier team.

Adena will be a question mark? They lose a lot and I'm not sure what they have
In the pipeline to replace the graduating talent.

Till neXt spring

Only had to drudge trough 4 pages of pointless travel ball recruiting threads, you know the:
(Tri-State Crop Dusting Pride is looking for a few players to finish out our highly competitive Daddy Ball rosters)...........kind.
Anyway here is an actual post about High School Softball with useful record references.
