No westfall won’t win the gold ball unless they developed another pitcher they will still be very strong though
But this said Unioto is the team to beat
Unioto is loaded with Jayla Campbell and several players back from last year and 3 new Freshman that can play 2 of them will start
Huntington will be good with there only pitcher
Piketon has lost there pitcher to injury
Zane Trace has some players not enough depth
Adena is to young but has talent
Paint Valley is young also Coach Smith Will have them playing
Tough
Southeastern has long way to go with Popp out with knee surgery
Baxter to Jackson and Wheeler to Unioto it’s going to be long season

Buckeye Bobb wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 8:23 pm Being new to the forum, I came here to get an idea of what the SVC might look like this Spring.

Will Westfall win another gold ball? Any bold predictions on a different school taking the title? Who makes a move up the standings? Clue me in...

2018 results:
Westfall
Huntington
Unioto
Piketon
Zane Trace
Adena
Paint Valley
Southeastern
Hard to bet against Westfall to win it, but can't predict a Gold Ball because Unioto and Huntington should both be tough. If Campbell is back playing for Unioto, that increases their chances tremendously. If they can get the pitching, they could push Westfall pretty hard. I expect Kellough to be dominant this year, but can she hold up as much as they pitch her? Huntington is my pick to win it, because they have the best pitcher in the league, and it's really not that close w/ Alexander out. I'm taking Adena at the 4th spot, they had 25 girls come out this year, and should put together a nice squad. I'd take Piketon(they'd be 4th w/ Alexander pitching), Zane Trace, PV, and Southeastern to round out the league. It should be a pretty good year for SVC softball.

Thanks for providing your thoughts. I know Fisher & Pinkerton for Unioto and Kellough out at Huntington. Who will be pitching for Westfall this Spring? What about some other top pitchers across the rest of the SVC...

With Alexander unable to pitch, Abby Butler for Adena would be the top returning pitcher for this year, at least based on last years numbers. Not sure who Westfall will lean on, but they always have someone...lol!

Not to my knowledge. Adena is in the Mashing Melanoma Super Scrimmage in West Portsmouth on Saturday, then they scrimmage Circleville on Tuesday.

Adena had a rough go of it in the varsity scrimmage against Logan Elm last night, but that Logan Elm squad is very very good!

However, the Adena program may be in the best position it's been in the history of the program. 25 kids out this year, a lot of Freshman talent that just needs some seasoning, and a couple classes behind this freshman group that are even more talented.

Schaefer is ND pitcher. She pitched 7innings last night after 7 ND was up 2-0, Unioto scored on a freshman ND pitcher. Unioto is very solid defensively, and pitched well. Schaefer pitched outstanding last night and the ND defense was very solid as well, couple double plays. First time i have seen them this spring and walked away very impressed.

I watched Kellough pitch late in games last year that she had no business continuing to pitch in. A lot of eggs in one basket for the Huntsmen. UHS and WF both go at least 2 deep on the mound.
One player was not enough tonight.
Unioto over Huntington 11-2
