Could someone tell me why that if the state tournament does not start until July 18, that the district is rushing the 11-12 girls tournament to be done on July 3rd? Why would a team have to play two games in one day, I just don't get it. That is not fair to any team. I have been involve with all-stars for years and have never seen a team play two games on the same day, only if it was weather related.
District all-stars have always been done one week prior to state tournament.

the more time you have to raise money the better.would you rather have 2 days or 2 weeks to that?

There are no instances in which a team will have to play more than one game in a day. It appeared to be the case on the earliest brackets that were released but the bracket posted at the tournament site is correct and has no doubleheaders for any team.

I can't answer your question as to why this tourney starts so early if the state tourney doesn't start until 7/18. I can say that the original bracket released had 15 teams in the tourney but in the couple days before it was to start, 4 teams dropped. Then, after an 11 team bracket was finalized, 2 more dropped making 2 teams in the bracket that weren't going to show up. This may not be the explanation you are looking for but the original bracket was set to end around 7/9 but now will end around 7/3 with fewer teams.

I'm guessing this is 11-12u all stars ? If so then Portsmouth would have the very good group of 11u's that won state as 10's last season ? Who is left in the tourney ? Thanks MD

This is 11-12 year olds.

There are 4 teams left at this moment, one will be eliminated today.

South Point plays West, loser eliminated.

On Thursday, that winner will play Portsmouth, loser eliminated.

Wheelersburg is the only team without a loss and will be waiting for the final loser and those teams will play Friday and Saturday if necessary.

Burg over South Point 3-1. S. Point eliminated with a 4th place finish. Not bad Pointers and to think that you went that far without two great players that I am sure would have helped out. I hope next year the ASA/Little League saga will be less dramatic and both sides can come to a resolution to help all involved.

good tourney run lady pointers! hopefully there will be no drama next year and the league will embrace ASA into their league instead of fight against it.

As coaches and parents in the SP league we are very proud of our girls and the tourney run we had. Our girls stepped up and kept a never give up attitude. We had a great group of girls and we are very proud to be associated with the team.

We just wish we could get the the SPLL to understand if we don't start working with ASA instead of against ASA that our program will never reach the competitive level it needs to be at. We did in fact have a girl or two that did not play due to league decisions that were not the best decisions. At least they were decisions that were not in the best interest of the girls involved.

Good Luck Burg, West and Portsmouth from the South Point LL Girls 11-12 coaching staff.
