Haley Flynn of the Philo Electrics set the State record for most strikeouts in an EXTRA INNING game after completing a suspended game tonight against the Sheridan Generals. The game was suspended due to darkness last week after 16 inning with a 3-3 score. It was finally completed after the 24th inning tonight, with Flynn picking up the 5-4 win for Philo and a TOTAL OF 55 STRIKEOUTS FOR HERSELF.

The old record was set in 2009 by Kasie Kelly who had 44 in the Wooster vs. Lexington game that went 20 innings.

ALSO.....according to OHSAA, the previous longest game was 22 innings set in 1997 and 2006

55k's combined or for 1 pitcher ? our summer balll pitcher, a freshman was on the losing end of a 1-0 or 2-1 game earlier this spring, NE Clermont Co VS St Ursline she had 27 K's and the opposing pitcher had 33 . I was told it was the 5th and 13th highest strikeout total in ohio history. MD

It was all Haley. She pitched the entire 16 innings on the 15th and finished up the final 8 tonight to reach the total of 55.

Congrats. What is the limit of innings per day for a high school pitcher? I thought it was 14. Did they increase it? We got in trouble a few years ago for going over 14 during a dh that the second game went into extra innings. Just wondering....... :122245

Interesting that the old state record of 44 does not appear on the national list. I wonder if the 44 also was in a suspended game that was continued several days later. I wonder if to qualify for the national list the game cannot be suspended to a later date.

2.29 strikeouts per inning for Flynn. I wonder if she had more than three in any inning.
