Notre Dame 6 - Clay 5 in 8 innings. ND thought they had the game won in top of 7th with 2 outs and no runners on. Hempill hit a hard shot to left field and advanced to 2nd. Craft hit one over the center fielders head to score Hempill and tie the game at 5. Clay out hit ND and had more earned runs. ND had one earned run. Unfortunate errors on the part of Clay made the difference. Some very unusual tactics were used on the part of ND. Not a good way to make friends and leave a good influence. However not a factor in the outcome of the game. I know the Clay fans have had a wonderful time enjoying the 2011 season despite all the rain. Going to miss the seniors which showed so much leadership this year. Keely Craft#33 and Holly Hempill #8. Clay combined for 23 home runs this season which is just incredible.
Best of luck to the Lady Titans at Pickerington. Strausburg Franklin is a team that plays at a different level. The additional 3 feet should be a plus to a good hitting club like Notre Dame. By the way, ND's Katie Stephenson is an incredible hitter. Just amazing what that girl can do offensively and defensively. Keep up the good work kid.

Statment not intended to stir up anything. My apology to anyone offended. Perhaps I was the one who was "stirred up". One must always remember to keep softball in it's proper perspective. P.R.

Not that it matters now but the errors and hits were pretty much equal. Clay had a least 6-7 errors and like wise for ND. Hard fought game on both sides. Good Luck ND in Regionals.

Nice game by both teams. Best of Luck to ND this Wednesday. You have energized the school and the young ladies coming up to the highschool.

Non-tournament score....but South Point and Chesapeake had a conference make up game that got rained out several times during the year.

South Point 12 Chesapeake 1

Murnahan was the winning pitcher. Also Rachel Murnahan got a home run to left field. Kayla Fletcher got a home run to right/center field, her last career at bat.

there were lots of good hits both ways , there were just as many errors , have no clue who had more or less earned runs , from the way the game was played by both teams 90% of the runs had to unearned. Just a very strange game by both teams. meaning they both made far more mistakes than a usual game. It was one of those " I don't want it, you take it, No I don't want it you take games"

Having watched the game very closely I don't have a clue about the unusual tactics comment. Only poor thing was the guy behind the plate was poor BOTH ways . Rather not see him calling the plate in a big game , or any game. Not one of SE ohio's best. MD
