I can see the SVC go down to the wire. I know the Richendollar girl is the real deal. She probably top 2-3 pitchers in the SVC and probably top 10 in the District. Who else is really good ball players in the SVC? Westfall has always been known as a great hitting team in the past. They usually don’t get shut out. The Dumm girl is also the real deal also. It looks like the SVC is very competitive and doing great against other conferences.

Current Standings:

Adena 5-0, 10-0
Unioto 4-1, 7-1
Westfall 4-1, 9-2
Southeastern 3-3, 9-3
Zane Trace 2-3, 6-4
Paint Valley 2-4, 4-7
Piketon 2-4, 2-9
Huntington 0-6, 2-10

Adena gets Westfall tonight, and Unioto tomorrow to finish out the 1st half of the SVC schedule. Gonna be a tight race to the end I believe.

Unioto wins the SVC then bows out in the Sectional Final as the #1 seed...Adena, ZT, and Westfall advance to district semifinals.

Unioto SVC Champs. The conference is weak! The conference needs to expand or teams need to go to tougher conference. Unioto lost to a really good Gallia academy team. Gallia would win the SVC or FAC or TVC and compete against other conferences. The bad thing about D-2 you have to win 2 games to get out of the sectionals and D-3 win 1 game. D-3 has so many weak teams.

A strange league for sure. 5 pretty good teams, but all very flawed. Westfall was in great shape when they had their full roster, but that was only for 10 or so games. Unioto was an outstanding offensive team, but below average defensively, which you can’t be in D2.

I’m guessing that there won’t be a district champion this year as all 3 remaining teams have very tough semi final matchups.

Depending on how Dumm is feeling, I like Westfall to upset Fairfield in the district semifinal. Now, if that happens, they'd have a pretty tough one against West in the district final.

Division II in the Southeast District is down from where it has been in the past, which is what makes Unioto losing in the sectional final a little more odd.

I don’t know what your taking about D-2 is down this year. You had 10 teams could win the district. 1. Sheridan, Fairfield Union, Vinton County, Athens, Hillsboro, Logan Elm, Warren, Unioto, Gallia Academy and Circleville. D-2 was heavy with a lot of seniors this year. D-2 teams is lot better than D-3 teams. D-3 teams are 1. Burg, Wellston, Portsmouth West and a healthy Westfall team.

What you are talking about is a lot of parity. There are a lot of average to slightly above average teams in the district in Division II. Normally, we have a couple of pretty solid/pretty good teams that lead the way, like a Sheridan when they had Campolo. We don't have that this year.

You are correct that there are a lot of subpar teams in Division III, although a Wheelersburg might fall under my take of being a pretty good Division III that can go out and beat a Central District champion, for example.

I would rather have 8-10 really good teams then one great team in the District. This year Burg team is like the Sheridan team you are talking about. Dominated all year in the SOC 2 and out of conference.

None of the SVC teams outside of Westfall played schedules to prepare them for tournaments.

The ironton pitcher isn’t 100%, so that gives Adena the edge in my opinion.

We’ll that doesn’t look good for the SVC conference. 6-3 win for Ironton. SVC needs to breakup the conference. When you play weak competition it doesn’t get you any better for tournament time. I think SVC teams was 18-1 vs non conference teams in regular season. Must have been weak teams. Good luck next year!

If she wasn't 100%, she wasn't far from it.

I'm not sure losing to a D1 college committed pitcher is an indictment on the SVC as a whole. I do believe that(other than Westfall), the league needs to challenge themselves more out of conference.

Gallia got beat 14-3 by Athens who was 6-6 in the TVC...Not sure they'd win that conference.

SVC schools other than Westfall need to step up their non-conference schedules. Too concerned about running up a cheap record and getting a higher seed, but not being ready to face better teams in the tournament.
