That didn’t work out too well. Eaton was walked 3 times and had a HR but Ironton only managed 2 hits.

Didn’t someone say earlier burgs pitching wasn’t that good?

I saw some very good pitching performances Saturday. First Gwen Sparks of Notre Dame with a 7-0 shutout over an underated Manchester team. Then saw Sydney McDermott of West shutout Leesburg Fairfield 1-0 in 10 innings (I wish had the Lady Lions' left-handed pitcher's name as she was also outstanding). The game ended on a walk-off home run by Emily Moore - ending an exciting, well played game. Fairfield will be heard from in the future as they were playing with a bunch of underclassmen. The Southern Ohio Conference played well Saturday with four teams advancing to Regional play. In addition to Notre Dame and West, Wheelersburg deated Ironton 7-0 with Macee Eaton bombing a home run and South Webster exploding with an 18-2 win over Waterford. Good luck to all the young ladies in the area still playing.
