Lower grades look to be down for Athens. Haven't seen anything on Wellston's up coming. Next year should still have some good playersPoo Bear wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 3:48 pmWe’ll find out where Athens program is next year . Played some of the states greatest programs and you are talking like playing average teams that always get blown out in the playoffs is a big deal

Athens won youth league championship last year. Logan has some dead years coming up but I heard their youth program is getting better. Numbers in football across the board are down at most schools. Athens true enrollment is around 230 to 250 top three grades tho. Athens is making the poor out of district kids go back to Nelsonville, Alexander, Trimble, and Fed Hock. Weird we get stuck with 400 kids the other schools kick out.

They live by me. That’s Athens school district. You were looking for Doseck. She lived right on the school district line.Barber1973 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 5:18 pm Dont ferget their ole boy if it werent fer open erollment the twins would have been a sparten. A lot of those county kids are the reason Athens has been so successful. I’m sure Federal Hocking would love to see Athens go to a closed district!Raider6309 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 4:54 pmAthens won youth league championship last year. No Dundas. That is completely wrong. I can only name one. U could say two but his dad owns a lot of rentals in Athens.

Maybe I’m reading it incorrectly but “poor” out of district kids? The out of district kids with some money get to stay? Just confused by that statement.Raider6309 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 4:54 pmAthens won youth league championship last year. They still count towards the enrollment. We aren't the MVL and Zanesville that created schools to send all the poor kids to and get them off the enrollment.

I’m just joking Poo. I couldn’t resist. I’m glad to see spires having success as well as Yates before he got hurt.

You shouldn't form opinions or take jabs at a school/team because of one poster on southeasternohiopreps. That's kind of silly.
Dundas is a jerk, but I still like most of the folk and the kids at Vinton. Sheeeesh.
lol

Wellston is solid this year, but will not be able to beat Athens @ Athens. Athens is the best team we have seen this year. Wellston could compete if the game was at home, but without their crew, they will not be able to stop Athens.
Athens by 28.

NY played at Wellston last week and had a very good crew. The TVC Ohio division does not hire their own refs. They have an assigner. Every team uses the assigner but guess who???? Mr. Bartrum and Meigs. They don't have the money!!!!
Wellston will hang around for awhile like Meigs last week but the Bulldogs pull away in the 2nd half.

It's up to each school to have one or not.
