Yep, always 1/8 plays 4/5 2nd rd. I think even I would attend that Athens game if they can beat both Hartley & Eastmoor the first 2 weeks. Wishful thinking I guess.

that would be something wouldn't it. if that would happen; the link to that game on here would generate an all time high with number of pages for one single contest.FANOSPORTS wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 11:53 am"Lightning " would have to strike twice for both of them and what are the oddscountywide35 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 10:52 am be nice to see Jackson vs Athens but don't foresee that matchup happening.

Re: Region 11 #8 Athens @ #1 Bishop Hartley
We had (10-0) Athens vs (10-0) Jackson back in 2011.
And guess who earned more points & was the higher seed despite playing in the TVC
Athens (TVC) was the 2 seed
Jackson (SEOAL) was the 7 seed
Both teams were 10-0.

That's because you played 7 teams that were over .500 that year.
* You were probably one of the few #2 seeds to lose that year: Jackson 27-Athens 7*
( And the SEOAL won that game regardless of seeding, just saying !!!!!)

Yeah Athens RB was hurt and the QB broke his hand a couple weeks before. Jackson didn’t beat Athens. The Wellston QB transfer beat Athens. Remember that Jackson team lost to Wellston and then recruited their best player
Re: Region 11 #8 Athens @ #1 Bishop Hartley
Jackson didn't beat Athens? The scoreboard seems to suggest otherwise.Raider6309 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 2:13 pm Yeah Athens RB was hurt and the QB broke his hand a couple weeks before. I know you just worded it wrong, but I'll correct you anyway. Jackson lost to Wellston in 2010. "That" Jackson team in 2011 did not.
Also, I was simply joking around with 93bulldog. I know him and we aggravate each other from time to time.

Re: Region 11 #8 Athens @ #1 Bishop Hartley
That schedule in 2011 did not differ much from the one this year. I was trying to make a point how every year is different in terms of what your opponents do - and how the rest of the region stacks up.
Those clamoring for schedule changes for Athens refuse to look at past history & facts. If their normal opponents had just played up to par, they wouldnt have even been sweating or on the cusp of making it.
The region this year was absolutely brutal & their opponents all had a down year. That is almost an anomaly - it rarely happens. Only 1 year did Athens schedule up (2014) - and even then they didn't get higher than the 2013 team, which was the top overall seed.
