Heard a girl for Wheelersburg ran with the relay team the whole season , they qualified for the state, only to be replaced by another runner in the state tournament, if that is true for any other reason other than injury or grades, which I heard it is not, that’s pathetic

That can happen often. Could be for a number of reason. The girl that was replaced could have been in another event and they could have wanted to save her legs. Sometimes a girl during the year will be in other events yet she is good in a certain relay as the one you are talking about. This girl may not have qualified in her usual events and with her time in the relay she was put in. Schools will often change their relay teams come district, regional or maybe state. I have known that during the year the coach will talk about replacing legs after the regular season. It can sound terrible, but usually runners know of the possibility.
