I know a burg kid was approached early by some of them. It’s a small area. Nothing like building a program from the top down. Works every time. Good for Parker for not taking the bait.

Yea that's the final score that I heard too. I also heard that Wheelersburg defense had 6-7 ints, with CG having 3. Sounds like our passing game needs a little work.tkd325 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:29 pmI'm pretty sure it ended CG 6-5. Don't quote me, but i think the CG lineman won most of their challenges. Burg is an awesome team as always, glad Grove got a chance to work with them last night.

I would think so. In two games against the Pirates, Salyers is 13 - 29 passing for 116 yards with 1 TD and 4 INTs. The Pirates came out on top in both games as well.Poo Bear wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:34 pmThink he’ll be motivated to beat burg ?Jack Sparrow wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:27 pmYes. Last I read this is a wheelersburg thread about wheelersburg's upcoming season, not an Ironton thread...Max opinion wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:56 am That will make for a good matchup , Ironton has some big athletic dudes that can play upfront on both sides of the ball , with a ton a dept , Irontons Dends are real good, Especially after adding one , the online returns all but one and he will be replaced by a new face too . Look forward to watching this matchup

Why would they try to pass at all? My guess they will hand it to carrico about 90% of all playsballplayer1992 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:42 pmI would think so. Re: 2019 Wheelersburg Pirates
I don't think Ironton will throw it around much at all. I was just referring to Salyers likely being a little extra motivated to prove his worth in his last outing against the Pirates, after having 2 subpar performances. I agree with you about Ironton's approach. They will likely feed Carrico and Brownstead the ball most of the game.laser breath wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 8:29 pmWhy would they try to pass at all? FB/LB that started out at Ironton but transferred to Raceland a few years ago. He is back at Ironton this year for his senior season. His father was a very good player at Ironton as well. I believe his father played college ball at Furman.laser breath wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 9:03 pmWho’s brownstead?ballplayer1992 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 8:56 pmI don't think Ironton will throw it around much at all. Trent Salyers is going to play at Valparaiso. Ironton’s QB Gage Salyers signed with Youngstown State.
