I Town was his first choice
Of course it was, I’m sure he was approached early by some of them. I know a burg kid was approached early by some of them. It’s a small area. Nothing like building a program from the top down. Works every time. Good for Parker for not taking the bait.
Ironton has it going on right now with all the scholarships
Oh that’s right. Never a scholly athlete at burg. Thx poo for clearing that up for us....!

How did it go?
About like you’d think....
I'm pretty sure it ended CG 6-5. Don't quote me, but i think the CG lineman won most of their challenges. Burg is an awesome team as always, glad Grove got a chance to work with them last night.
Yea that's the final score that I heard too. I also heard that Wheelersburg defense had 6-7 ints, with CG having 3. Sounds like our passing game needs a little work.

He’s not at burg.
He was going to come up but there was 2 reasons that made him stay at Portsmouth. Good source. Ask around people know why. If not for that reason Portsmouth loses their best player! It’s nothing big just what he knew.
I Town was his first choice

Nope, was with and running with couple burg players and was only Burg he was going to go to. I never held Itown come out of his mouth one time!

I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the question. Read above where it says Ironton has all the scholarships.FYI: #29 has a bunch of offers
As far as D1 in your backfield, I hear there is one, and he plays LB

Do you have a link to that other than the Huntington or ironton paper?247 doesn’t list him even getting an offer let alone committing

Yes. I stand corrected with the qb from Ironton via burg

I would think so. In two games against the Pirates, Salyers is 13 - 29 passing for 116 yards with 1 TD and 4 INTs. The Pirates came out on top in both games as well.

Max opinion wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:56 am That will make for a good matchup , Ironton has some big athletic dudes that can play upfront on both sides of the ball , with a ton a dept , Irontons Dends are real good, Especially after adding one , the online returns all but one and he will be replaced by a new face too . Look forward to watching this matchup
Last I read this is a wheelersburg thread about wheelersburg's upcoming season, not an Ironton thread...

Why would they try to pass at all? My guess they will hand it to carrico about 90% of all plays

I don't think Ironton will throw it around much at all. I was just referring to Salyers likely being a little extra motivated to prove his worth in his last outing against the Pirates, after having 2 subpar performances. I agree with you about Ironton's approach. They will likely feed Carrico and Brownstead the ball most of the game.

FB/LB that started out at Ironton but transferred to Raceland a few years ago. He is back at Ironton this year for his senior season. His father was a very good player at Ironton as well. I believe his father played college ball at Furman.

Trent Salyers is going to play at Valparaiso. Ironton’s QB Gage Salyers signed with Youngstown State.
