Even if other schools try with them. Just don't see many TVC teams wanting to travel to Marietta or Warren--Just too far.
Where do people get this stuff ? 😂

This is a conversation EVERY YEAR! The reality is that it will probably never happen. People need to realize that when you talk league restructuring the LEADERS take into consideration ALL sports, not just football. That is why it would never happen.

Marietta is making a hard pitch to the TVC. If it’s even voted upon, they will needs 11 yes votes.

Distance comparisons for Nelsonville-York -

Pickerington Central High School - 49 minutes; 50.7 miles (every school district in Fairfield County is closer than Marietta, some in Franklin County are closer as well)

Warren High School - 52 minutes, 40.5 miles
Marietta High School - 1 hour, 9 minutes; 62.9 miles

Marietta would be about 17 minutes and 22 miles further away than Warren.

Just some distance observations.

The thought process here is a 3 division alignment.

5.....5.....and 7 schools

Larger school division: Athens, Vinton, Meigs, Warren, Marietta

Middle division: Wellston, River Valley, Fort Frye, Nelsonville, Alexander

Smaller school division of 7 stays the same

Marietta and Warren will always be in the SE District and this gives the D-2 schools two more allies in seeding and district team selections.

Enrollment continues to decline at both Warren and Marietta. Warren has broke ground on new schools and Marietta has a 50 acre K-12 complex on the November ballot.

The school visits will continue as all of this is in the talking stage for consideration. Formal presentations may happen in the near future.

The goal of aligning league and district affiliations for both Warren and Marietta is real and necessary. Fort Frye does not have a league and they have fine programs and facilities.

More to come later.....

Trimble as a D6 team needs to be in the middle div.

Trimble will be back to D7 next year if not the following. Was only a couple kids over from D7. 5 of the boys that are on that county line graduate this year

It does Trimble no favors to be in the bottom group. They need to be in the middle 5-6-6 makes more sense.

The easy answer for the elephant in the room is this. VC, wellston, meigs, NY, RV, and Alex need to meet and choose to leave the tvc by forming their own league. They could invite both oak hill and fort Frye and accept either or both. This would create a great mid size school league.

That would leave the tvc with:
Southern
Eastern
South Gallia
Waterford
Athens
Belpre
Trimble
Federal Hocking

The big question is could Athens accept being the runner up in football most years?

I’m still confused on what the problem is with the TVC? Adding one team to each division is the only small issue I see. Athens isn’t an issue, they only become an issue if they decided they want out themselves.

You forgot Logan and their rival Miller. We won’t join without those two. Miller should come back after their Jesus phase

Miller is joining the mid state league with religious schools. Makes zero sense unless they found Jesus as their lord and savior.

report is out, Athens wants to follow Miller to what they think is the promise land. TVC is getting too big for them. Time to cut and run and we are good at that. Just ask the nine other schools in the old SEOAL.
