Warren @ Athens
Warren @ Athens
Big big game for seeding.
Athens has defeated about every team they should have and have played Alexander and Lancaster tightly. Warren seems to have found their way without Dennis.
I’m calling it now. Athens plays their best game to date, shoots lights out and ends the streak!
Athens 65
Warren 62
Bulldogs fans rejoice!
Then Pfloyd bumps Athens up to within 8 spots of Warren

Re: Warren @ Athens
Sound good! lol
Butcher has been the man for Athens lately.
Scored 21, 21, 24 and 31 points in the last 4 games heading into Wood Co. Tues. (not sure what he had down there)
Whiting has scored in double figures every single game in 2019/2020. A model of consistency.

Has Butcher avoided foul trouble pretty good this year?

Re: Warren @ Athens
Surprisingly yes. He lost a good amount of weight, is moving a lot better which is helping not foul as much.Ironman92 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 9:47 pm93Bulldog wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 9:42 pm Sound good! lol

Re: Warren @ Athens
Watched both beat up on my blue devils. Played good against Athens but they were just better. Game at Warren we never got off the bus and Warren could do no wrong. I think Athens can take this one at home if the big fella can go 20 or so points. Athens 59-57
Re: Warren @ Athens
Let me try my hand at the spread lol. It’s not easy. I will say Warren(-7) at Athens.

Re: Warren @ Athens
This game could hinge on the officials. If "those danged Glouster refs" have the game my money's on Warren. But otherwise Athens should win. They have the better team and the question then will come down to coaching.

Box score shows Butcher was 2/4 on FTs and had one deuce for a total of 4 points in the game which was tied at 19 after 1 qtr and then ended in favor of Athens at 86-53.

Re: Warren @ Athens
I’d say Warren by 5. Warren always plays well slowing it down. Athens needs to just go to Butcher early since Warren’s best player is a 6’2 post player
Re: Warren @ Athens
Better coaching at Warren--Butcher will get frustrated from the defense from Warren--I say he fouls out--so Warren by at least 10.
Re: Warren @ Athens
Their best player may be 6'2", but they have others bigger. I think they'll have some effective defense.Raider6309 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 12:58 pm I’d say Warren by 5. Re: Warren @ Athens
... a must win for Athens vs Warren ... the Bulldogs have zero signature wins ... have beaten bad by the 2 best teams they have played so far (Alexander and Chesapeake) ... looking forward to seeing the Bulldogs to be able to compare them vs the other teams above them in my rankings ... Warren, Marietta (had won 7 straight before losing big to Warren Tuesday) , home vs Alexander ... Warren without Seth Dennis - time to drop the without Seth Dennis - as the Warriors have morphed into "this is who we are now" - everyone has developed/taken on their new roles, settled into doing what they individually bring to the TEAM instead trying to "take up the slack" ... too good of players, too good of a coaching staff to have it any other way - I figured it would take thru the holidays to have EVERYONE accept what is , and for TEAM to begin to settle in and NOW start "just getting better" ... looking forward to touching bases with both coaching staffs tomorrow night ! I saw Warren in their season opening loss to Waverly at the Piketon tipoff tourney ... haven't seen Athens - the match-ups haven't lured me either down to A'town or had me hitting the road to NEED to see them ... Athens vs Warren ... THAT gets me to drive down Rte 33 LOL ... I wish both teams a great game !
