Not really a tennis fan, but anytime the Buckeyes can knock off Texas the #1 ranked team in the country, and I might as well say in a very convincing fashion by a final score of 4-1. If I'm not mistaken, last year when the Buckeyes were rated #1, it was Texas that then upset the Buckeyes.

You are correct about last year.VetteMan wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 10:47 pm Not really a tennis fan, but anytime the Buckeyes can knock off Texas the #1 ranked team in the country, and I might as well say in a very convincing fashion by a final score of 4-1. Re: 2020 Ohio State Buckeyes Men's Tennis
Not only have they beaten two #1 ranked teams ( Texas @ USC ) in successive weeks, they now next week will go into the National Indoor Championships held in Madison Wisconsin, as the #1 ranked team in the Country themselves. Go Bucks!

Re: 2020 Ohio State Buckeyes Men's Tennis
They should be #1, but there are no rankings released the week of indoor nationals, so they will actually enter the tournament as #2. But, the ITA may give them the #1 overall seed for the tournament. We'll see in the next couple days.
Re: 2020 Ohio State Buckeyes Men's Tennis
I jumped the gun a little, it probably also depends on if they can beat Texas A@M also ?Chieftain2009 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:24 pmThey should be #1, but there are no rankings released the week of indoor nationals, so they will actually enter the tournament as #2. Still waiting on the draw and schedule for ITA Indoor Nationals, but I have to assume that OSU will be the #1 overall seed. But you are correct, their match-up with #7 Texas A&M tomorrow will loom large in that decision.VetteMan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 8:31 pmI jumped the gun a little, it probably also depends on if they can beat Texas A@M also ?Chieftain2009 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:24 pmThey should be #1, but there are no rankings released the week of indoor nationals, so they will actually enter the tournament as #2. Ohio State is playing better than anyone in the country right now! Hopefully that play not only continues this weekend at nationals, but also tomorrow against the Aggies.

Maybe if the new rankings do come out before this weekend, the Buckeyes will indeed be #1.Chieftain2009 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 11:51 pm Playing in their final match before indoor nationals, the Buckeyes picked up another dominant victory at home, this time against #7 Texas A&M by a final score of 4-1.
