Well for Joe Burrow it will be right from the frying pan, straight to the fire, as his second NFL start will be against the Bengals dreaded rival, the Cleveland Browns. Neither team wants to start the season 0-2, and with the game being in Cleveland, this game will be quite a challenge. The Bengals will be shorthanded at a key position, as eight-time Pro Bowler Geno Atkins will miss his second consecutive game because of a shoulder injury. If that's not bad enough, Mike Daniels who started in place of Atkins in the opener, will also be unavailable for the game. Without either Atkins or Daniels, the Bengals defensive line goes from a strength to a potential weakness. The Browns do have two of the best running backs in the NFL in Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb.

Thursday night's AFC North matchup between the Bengals and the Browns just got a little more interesting. A day after the Browns dumped kicker Austin Seibert, The Bengals have claimed the second year pro and will have him at the ready Thursday night. Seibert missed a field goal attempt and an extra point in the game against the Ravens, and the Browns decided to waive him. Most of the injuries that the Bengals sustained against the Chargers were on the defensive side of the ball. I know it was only the first game of the year for every team, but I'm still very concerned about the offensive line for the Bengals, and Burrow having enough time to throw the ball.

The Cincinnati Bengals shuffled around the roster a little bit on Tuesday ahead of their Thursday primetime clash with the Browns. The team announced that they were placing guard Xavier Su'a-Filo on injured reserve, and have promoted defensive lineman Amani Bledsoe from the practice squad to the active roster. They have also waived defensive back Torry M'Tyer, probably to create a spot for the new kicker they just acquired.

The Bengals have named their practice squad protected list for week No-2 ahead of Thursday night's primetime battle with the Browns. The following 4 players are as follows: S-Trayvon Henderson, WR-Stanley Morgan, TE-Mason Schreck and OG-Keaton Sutherland.

Joe Burrow had another pretty good game, even though they lost to the Browns 35-30. Joe Burrow, even with his offensive line's inability to pass block, still threw for 317 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Bengals have to do something to improve their running game, as I think they are averaging less than 3 yards per carry ( Tonight 23 carries for 64 yards) in each of their first two games. Defenses are just pinning there ear's back and coming after Burrow each and every play.

If the Bengals like having Joe Burrow on the football field and not in the ICU, they’re going to stop that “throw 61 times in a game” nonsense.

Burrow has shown in two games he has all the physical tools, mental acuity, and swagger needed to be an all pro quarterback. Just a shame he will never reach his full potential as long as he is in a Bengal uniform. If Joe can soldier on without getting maimed during his 4 year contract, maybe he can land with a legitimate franchise.

Yep. Big agree. Burrow is very good. Hard not to think his ceiling is very high.

Andy Dalton was sacked, in one game, eight times vs the Steelers last year. Jonah Williams was a good draft pick but the right side of the line is worse than last year. Pittsburgh week 10, Washington week 11. There hasn’t been a QB prospect this coveted since Andrew Luck. Joe Burrow has all the potential to be the next Andrew Luck... but part of being Andrew Luck is having multiple years of your shelf life be eliminated because the franchise who drafted you doesn’t invest in an offensive line.

As a famous movie star just said, "Everyone laughed at Louis Armstrong when he said he wanted to go to the moon, now he's up their laughing at them".
I agree that claiming he’s a product of OSU is incorrect, but this isn’t an accurate description of what happened. He broke his hand and lost his ground in a tightly competitive QB job against a QB who is also starting in the NFL.

First of all don't say that Ohio State wasted him. It was Urban that wasted him. And yes he did lose his starting job to a broken hand but that doesn't explain why he didn't play the year before ahead of that thing that Urban Meyer called a quarterback wearing jersey number 16

You mean JT Barrett, the same quarterback that threw for over 64% completion, 35TD’s and over 3K yards his senior season? The same JT Barrett who became the first three-year captain in Ohio State history? I’m sure Urban had a pretty good read on who was more deserving to be the starting QB.

You’re clueless, and it shows.

Same quarterback that lost 30 to nothing to Clemson. same quarterback that would have lost to Michigan his senior year had he not had a suspected knee injury. In comes Dwayne Haskins to save the day. We have the national championship banner because he broke his leg against Michigan and cardale Jones and the offense just exploded in the three games after he broke his leg. And who's he currently play for by the way

All this blah blah blah, “well actually” spin... suggesting you knew more and saw more than Urban, therefore first-year starter QB Joe Burrow should’ve gotten the nod over one of the most accomplished quarterbacks to wear Scarlet and Grey, a three-year starter who had an incredible senior season... absolutely laughable. If anything, more indication would’ve been that Dwayne Haskins had a claim to the #2 spot and preferable to start in lieu of Barrett — not Burrow.

Yes you are correct Dwayne could have started ahead of Joe in JT senior year and me and a lot of other people I've spoken to would have been fine with that. Our offense against good teams was to one-dimensional. The playbook would shrink up to JT to the left and JT to the right and JT up the middle. If you could stop the run against JT then you could win because he could not beat you with his arm period

The only thing about Burrow now is can he stay healthy as well as mentally healthy from the poor blocking, Much like how David Carr career was destroyed from poor protection and having to throw a lot each game. While under pressure the entire game.

Having injuries on the OLine as well as having OT Prince opt out of the season has hurt. Then having Bobby "No" Hart at right tackle. Must be able to run the ball. Time to get rid of John Ross as he has another game of O catches.

Agree about Prince's opting out, Hart is or should be only a backup, or maybe that's even a stretch at that. Billy Price has just not been able to take that next step, and secure a starting spot. I think that Higgins will start seeing more playing time also in the passing game.

A few things that Baker Mayfield, Myles Garrett and a few others had to say about Joe Burrow's primetime debut. Burrow, without a preseason and in only his second game and a short turnaround, made history with 61 pass attempts and other impressive details about his performance. To say his own coaches and teammates, as well as the opposition came away impressed would be an understatement. Myles Garrett, said that Burrow is tough, he took a lot of shots, and he bounced right back up. He was still putting deep one's on the money and he always kept his eyes downfield. He was never really worried about the rush, unless it was really on him. That is better than some veteran quarterbacks. He has a way's to go, but he is already off to a good start. I am impressed by him. From one franchise QB to another, Baker Mayfield had nothing but praise for Burrow. I didn't get a chance to watch him last week ( against the Los Angles Chargers) but I heard the rare reviews and you could tell it's true, the hype is real with Joe. I thought he played extremely well, just being decisive, keeping plays extended, taking care of the ball. I thought he did a great job. It's always good to see another young guy come in and takeover, and obviously that team loves him. They follow him and he leads them.
