Valenth's Week 9 Predictions

Post by Valenth »

Looking at Week 9 lets see what we have in Store... Health conditions permitting....

Here are some Key matchups...

#1. Ohio State @ Penn State - 7:30PM ABC

Well... We got an Ohio State team that looks as good as advertised... And we got Penn State who got upset by Indiana (IMO that final play still to me looked a little suspect.) The Buckeyes needs to come in swinging... and Put the foot to the gas pedal and not look back... Because Penn State you know will be heated after that loss and will be out for blood. Ohio State needs to fire on all cylinders... And I got the Buckeyes by 10 in this matchup.

#2. Texas @ Oklahoma State - 4PM FOX

This looks like one of the key matchups of the BIG XII... And there's a lot at stake here... Texas has been on a downward spiral and Oklahoma State looks like the front runner for the conference... Will the Cowboys take care of the Longhorns? I think this will be a closely contested matchup... I got Oklahoma State by a TD.

#3. Wisconsin @ Nebraska - 3:30PM FS1

This is IMO the Measuring stick... this is the matchup of the B1G West... Lets see how well Wisconsin handles the Cornhuskers... And hopefully the QB for Wisconsin will be healthy. This will show a lot of what each team REALLY Has. I think health permitting of the QB I got Wisconsin by 2 TDs.

Other Predictions...

Marshall takes care of FIU
Clemson rolls Boston College
Georgia thumps Kentucky
Iowa State runs over Kansas
Cincinnati thumps Memphis
Xichigan destroys Xichigan State
Indiana takes care of Rutgers
Auburn Squeaks by LSU
Notre Dame beats Georgia Tech
Ole Miss throttles Vanderbilt
Virginia Tech gets by Louisville
Alabama stomps Mississippi State
Texas A&M takes care of Arkansas
UNC destroys Virginia
Oklahoma beats Texas Tech in a Banrburner...

Thoughts?

I too see Ohio State escaping Happy Valley with a 10 point win not secured until late in the fourth quarter. Penn State sets up well against Ohio State's weakness in running the ball and defending running quarterbacks.

Also Oklahoma St can strengthen their claim on the BigXll as they host Texas.

Wisconsin's QB Graham Mertz tested covid positive for the second time and now must sit for two weeks plus one week for reaclimation per conference rules. Also the Badger's third string QB Chase Wolf also tested positive, so Wisconsin could conceivably be down to their fourth string QB when they travel to Nebraska this week. Hate to see players lose their opportunity to compete. The season is indeed fragile.

Well this weakens the BIG even more! Not good news at all! We better hope and pray TTUN is not having another pretender year. I guess the good news is other conferences don't look to be much stronger from top to bottom with one heavyweight team looking down on the others.

The 2020 season is going to have an asterisk beside records and stats for sure.

I love confusion.....

I like Texas to beat the Pokies and throw the BIG 12 topsy-turvy.

Give me the Scarlet and Gray over the kitties on their turf.

And.... I'll take Memphis in an upset over Cincy!!

2020 football has been chaotic but it has produced match ups and results not likely in a normal year in both the college and high school ranks. The downside may be financial. Will programs survive reduced revenue from fewer games with lower or no attendance?

Clemson's Trevor Lawrence, the Heisman front runner, tests positive for covid-19. To miss this weeks game against Boston College.

Wow they got Notre Dame coming up too. We'll see how good ol Dabo's team depth is now. It is like a ticking timebomb for any team right now!

D.J. Uiagalelei, a five star freshman, will be Clemson's quarterback, and from what I have seen of him on TV, the Tigers will not miss a beat.

Also there are rumors of a covid19 outbreak at Illinois after they played Wisconsin last week. The Illini's home game with Purdue may be in jeopardy. If the contagion spread dominoes keep falling, I can see the Big Ten universities presidents pulling the plug on the entire season.

Yep I can see that too and you're probably right about them not missing a beat. He is a good coach/recruiter but that is some awful big shoes to fill so we will see.

Lol he might be right watching Clemson today getting throttled by B-C. Tigers top rank in serious jeopardy!

So much for Memphis....just missed it....lol

Clemson roars back in the second half to beat BC...34-28. On to Notre Dame next Saturday...probably in prime time.

Whew the tiger cub pulled that one out of the frying pan! That dumb player almost cost them the game with that targeting penalty. Now the big test awaits them next week. TTUN wow, I just said this week they need to be a contender and not a pretender again for the BIG to have a good power ranking and we get an early answer to that!

And lest we forget who may be the actual bully in college football this year:

False positive dings Ohio State depth at Penn State

Apparently reserve linebacker Justin Hilliard out.
