beaverlover wrote: Thu Nov 26, 2020 1:54 pm Just catching up on all the "happenings" on SEOPS as alot of us are making our yearly return with Boys hoops upon us. Glad cooler heads prevailed and floyd rankings will continue as they have become a staple in SE District. Hopeful Covid doesn't take too many games from us and we can a have a halfway normal season. Eastern Pike at #69 hurts...Lol. I liked Ironmans 54 better, Very young but could suprise some teams as I believe the SOC2 will prepare them for March and they'll be competitive in D4 Tournament.
Eastern Pike is a total unknown to me this season beaverlover ! Hence the starting position - the more I learn as the season starts the more accurate their placement will get ... I hope they live stream their games so I can give them the eye test... I am soooooo ready to dive into hoops !!!

Alot of unknowns for sure right now,Loss of Cochenour hurts as he was a great scorer but some solid players return..4 of 5 starters from Coach Lockerys 1st season as HC at Eastern are back for his 2nd,after a full season to implement his system ,He gets back 6"3 Sophomore Chase Carter who I expect to have a good Season, has a nose for the ball and plays very strong inside also has good touch in midrange game.Senior Dylan Mattox brings experience and is a great defender, can handle the ball and gives maximum effort. Sophomore Neil Leist can knock down 3s and has ability to get to basket which he'll need to do more of this season,Abe McBee an incoming Freshman most likely sees varsity time and contributes right away as well...Brennon Slusher also has ability to score and knock down shots,Issac Richardson is a good defensive player returning,Sr Trenton Brown can knock down shots.
..Definitely hard to replace Cochenour scoring 20 a night but I believe a balanced attack this season for Eastern could sneak up on some and have chance to be playing for a district title if things fall into place. Excited for Hoops Season!! All Games will be live streaming Eastern Facebook page 👍

If schools are streaming on YouTube, you could stream right on your tv if you have a Roku or something like that. Think ours was like $250 or something like that for a 50 or 55incher

Glad you are back. My Indians will have work to do,but; I believe coach Arey will get them prepared. 6'5,6'6",6'4" returning starters and plenty of help from a bunch of seniors again off bench. Guard play will have to be tuned up and I believe the pieces are there. Should be fun If they ever allow us to play. Currently Adams county school district is not allowing games yet. Workouts are limited to 8 players at a time.
I'm good with starting around #35, I just hope we get to compete. The Berlin hiland game in the regional last year kind of sticks in my craw. Ready for a revenge tour. Bring on the games.

Paint Valley will be streaming on their YouTube page. I’m sure that Wilmington will be streaming their game with Hillsboro, but I haven’t looked at how yet.

South Webster @ Notre Dame will be broadcast on ND’s FB page (allegedly)

Webster has been streaming home activities on YouTube channel “bloom Vernon”

Athens will have its hands full tomorrow night. lol

Especially without their PG, but he may be able to go vs Warren on Tuesday.

A bump up in my book:

Southeastern
Paint Valley
Gallia Academy

A few spots better: Athens, River Valley, Hillsboro

Few spots down: Oak Hill, Western, McClain

Not much to base on just yet...they get knocked back a few after being soundly defeated by a very good team.

I’m picking them to finish 3rd in the FAC this year

That group has beaten Hillsboro’s group all the way through....but I’ve always said that Hillsboro group is better than their outcomes. I believe the coach has the Boro kids figured out and they may be a pain in a a lot of teams’ butt.

Trace is solid and huge...Chilly cannot be dismissed until we all beat them. We’ll see.

League is even in my mind

I agree about Hillsboro. I think that teams gonna be an issue this year if they figure it out. They played us tough both games last year. I definitely think Jackson and Boro are the two top teams in the FAC

... the 1st regular season rankings come out next Sunday 12/06/20 ... more teams will have played (fingers crossed) after this first week in December - NOT ALL - as many of the teams have been shutdown by the school districts until after this week - then others will be making decisions (ie Logan) as to whether to extend the Winter Sports/activities shutdown for sports and in-person school ...
