Really surprised of the let down. CG not having their senior leader tonight I’m sure hurt but should have still had enough. Really bad loss tonight for the Hornets, congrats to the Flyers.
... I watched some of the game tonight ... ISJ was bigger than CG and it showed ... St. Joseph played a very good game from what I saw ... the Flyers beat CG on the Hornets court but lose to Symmes Valley and Western Pike - head scratching time ...

Trimble 60
Athens 56

They don't even have a player over 6'1, Floyd. I don't know how Howie does it. Mind blowing. Lol

... It's Howie, It's those kids, It's the Trimble sports attitude ... I love watching Trimble play - watched them twice so far this season vs Piketon and Chesapeake both losses ... how many threes did Trimble take and make tonight? they normally don't take many - maybe in the 9-10 range ... Howie's teams get position on the boards even when undersized ... want to see a rundown on this 93dog ...

Trimble 14 13 13 20 - 60
Athens 11 16 11 19 - 56

Pretty good game. Cats led 14-11 after the first. It was tied at 27 going into the locker rooms for half. Cats grabbed a 40-38 lead after three quarters before earning the 60-56 win.

Trimble turned the ball over a whopping 26 times to the Bulldogs 21, but still managed to win the game. Tomcats were 13-for-17 from the charity stripe. The Bulldogs were 15-for-20, but missed 4 free throws in the 4th Q.

Trimble made three 3's in the game, did not take many at all. Athens made 5 treys.

Trimble (7-2)

Tucker Dixon - 4 pts
Blake Guffey - 18 pts, 12 rebounds (perfect 6-for-6 from the line)
Tyler Weber - 10 pts, 7 rebounds
Austin Wisor - 12 pts (two big treys in the 2nd half)
Bryce Downs - 11 pts
Calarence Jones - 5 pts

Athens (7-6)

Jacob Sayers - 3 pts
Will Matters - 19 pts (three treys in the 4th Q)
Trey Harris - 1 pt
Brayden Whiting - 22 pts, 4 rebounds
Derek Welch - 11 pts, 7 rebounds

About as expected based on what we’ve seen this season. Trimble “seems” slightly better than Athens. They seem close snd game showed it.

You asked me who I thought was the better of the mix awhile back and I'm still sticking with Fed, I92. They are the more 'complete team' of the bunch. (Athens, Trimble, VC, Fed). We'll find out a lot next week. Fed plays @ Trimble Thur, vs Belpre Fri and vs Athens Sat ... the rare triple header.

SW bounced back tonight at home against Oak Hill 71-63.
Had em down 18 at one point. Only 3 turnovers in the first half for Webster, I had them with 8 overall. Ran a good half court trap to open the game like we started the season out in. Played really well against a 6’5 post man for them. Trae Zimmerman 39. Good to see some discipline on the ball tonight.

Headed to Waverly on tuesday

Beatin the brakes off em in the thunderdome
Game count 2023 : 54

Georgetown is pretty small actually. D4. They won state bout 8 years ago coming out of Cincinnati tournament. Brian Grant of Xavier and the NBA fame played at Georgetown when they were still shl/ SHAC league members. As a 11 th grader he would recieve the ball and two hand slam it from anywhere in the paint. Georgetown it half way between Ripley and My Orab. About the same distance from Eastern Brown.
