Re: Week 6 Miami Trace @ Jackson
Miami Trace has some talent but their about 2-3 not he’s down from the top 3 teams in this conference. Jackson by 4 scores
Re: Week 6 Miami Trace @ Jackson
The Ironmen should be able to win this matchup in convincing fashion.

Probably like the 1976 and 1977 games but in reverse of those two games. Jackson by what they want.

What’s going on with trace? Big school, great new facilities but doesn’t seem like they have the numbers they should. The d1 lineman I thought was really good and they had a nice receiver.

Kinda glad that MT QB during those years isn’t coming to The Hill

Yeah too bad he didn’t have a receiver to throw as good as himself was for the other QB.
That was some serious talent on the field for MT.
though it’s waaayyyy before my time.

Even my Fayette Co. friends are saying this will be a SMACKDOWN! They actually said, DON'T COME. SAVE YOUR MONEY! So, I will go with Jackson, big! 50 - 6

Interesting, that hasn't been my experience. My view on it is a total 180 from your perspective. I've always seen the Trace faithful out and supporting their programs regardless of the talent. I don't necessarily believe it's about wanting to point the finger vs supporting the kids, but I believe they want to hold those accountable to higher standards and not accepting mediocrity or less just because they have a body to fill the position.mt1fan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 1:29 pmSounds about right coming from Fayco fans. The standard of community support has always been at WCH. They can be 0-10 and the community will support the Blue Lions with everything they have. At Trace, people don't want to attach themselves to a team who is going through some struggles. They only want to be attached if things are going well. Rather point the finger vs supporting the kids. Agreed. Wouldn’t put much faith into what the cross town rival has to say. MT has some tradition rhere. Read above in the posts that talk about sending multiple kids off the same to what is now Power 5 schools. LeBeaue last year was as nice of RB as you’ll see. And have another one coming up. Beatiful Staduim over there. MT will continue to get better. I jut hope tomorrow night is not the night and they yet get the privilege of seeing what a high tuned football program from top to bottom looks like.
Come yo the hill anyways. The Apple Featival is going on. Grey food. Nicest Staduim in SEO for Friday night lights Safe travels if ya decide to come.
Jackson media will
Be streaming the game.

Re: Week 6 Miami Trace @ Jackson
Countywide35-I do not believe Scott Grooms was a receiver for Art. Scott only played with Art in 77. Art’s top receiver was Bill Hanners. He did have 3 different TE in his career at MT. The Backs were also used a great deal as receivers in the offense. In 77 Scott started at safety I believe and got in usually mid in the third quarter to play QB. It was some run of talent with Art and Glenn Cobb to Ohio State and Scott Grooms to Norte Dame. Also Sam Grooms, Scott’s older brother went to Youngstown State and played center on DII National Championship team. I think there were 7 in Art’s class that played college football at some level. I was lucky enough to be around so much talent. As for me I was not one of the more talented guys but did play in 74 and 75. The best thing that happened to me for my future was getting to be involved in the program while in college from 76-79 teams. Coach Zechman went to Ohio State as an assistant coach in 79 and to Mew Mexico State as head coach in 83 where he took Coach James from his MT staff for he staff at NMSU. I did go out on my own in 1980 to venture deep into SE Ohio.
