Based on that, I would say the original proposal of 12 teams in would be the right idea. A total of 9 teams that were 13-16 seeds won. Now some of those games were close, or maybe even closer than the final indicated. But without really digging into it, I have no idea how many of those 9 might be able to win a second game.
Great info. Outside of the 7/8 seeds, none of this was competitive.

Even with the 4 seeds losing 25% of the time, their average was a 36-18 winning score. This tells me that the 21 wins by 4 seeds were lopsided wins.

Our team always gets questioned about if we're scheduling hard enough teams. You also have to question if some schools are making their schedules too hard, hurting their playoff chances by scheduling up so much that your players don't actually get the credit they deserve for how good they are.

I think that some of these teams are better than records indicate. Anyways it’s an argument that will Always be there, so decided to research all the upsets across the board.

There were 224 Higher seeds in playoff games last night across 28 regions, and if those teams 43 of them lost for around a 20% clip. Personally I think that’s well worth the format. 44 teams who would have been told to stay home are playing next week. Scores below:

C'mon guys.. showing that some "upsets" justify watering down the tournament so much is crazy.. because some 9's beat some 8's..a few 10's over 7's.. (..an I know, all you korrection kings, there were some others an a 2 got beat..) 16 is too many. 8 is as close to perfect as we can get...

Based on this, the only level this was even remotely competitive is for the 7 and 8 seeds. If anything, it affirms that the computer points are a pretty good measuring stick.
