The scrimmage shoe could be on the other foot for Ironton this weekend at Anderson. The talented Raptors will field a safety committed to Bowling Green, a tight end committed to WVU, and a running back who scored 39 TDs last year on almost 2,000 all-purpose yards and who holds multiple Ivy League offers. Anderson was a deceiving 8-6 last year, as their wide-open passing attack enabled an Elite 8 finish in the Division 2 playoffs. With a stock of returning players, they are aiming at even higher things this season.

They are very talented.
A ton of offense….

How many lineman transferred in to Ironton this year. Max preps shows a few new names. How many of those will see action?

Not sure but they look strong on film. Could be a problem for teams this year.

I remember when that one guy said “Jackson looks slow on film.” Poor fool has never lived that one down.

One new lineman transferred in, he’ll be a JR this year. We have two starters back that were injured during the season last year and missed the playoffs, great having them back.

The entire offensive line this year started multiple games last year. All have tons of experience and now are healthy. The 1st team Oline that played vs Waverly was all Ironton players from last year.

So far from what Im hearing, no lineman transfer has earned a starting spot. Only “transfer” they have starting on the line is Patterson and he came to Ironton in 8th grade. Copas seen some reps on dline in the scrimmage against waverly as well.

I heard Ironton got smoked in Cincinnati today. 10+ to 1

Qb had multiple fumbles and threw a pick…

I’m typically not one to defend Ironton, but this is an extremely tough matchup. Anderson is no slouch and tends to have very high powered offenses.

I think it ended up being 10-5. Anderson is the real deal this year. The 6’5 230lbs TE that had speed gave ironton fits all game. Ironton drove down and scored on the first opening drive of the game. A guy from Anderson said they have tons of transfers this year. Ironton was outmatched at every postion. I was more impressed with Anderson this year than seeing Cincinnati Moeller 2 years ago. Ironton did have good moments but could never get a run game started vs Andersons monster front 4. Anderson has a wide open offensive and passed 80% of the time and if nobody was open the QB took off and made guys miss. I think Ironton will be fine I’m just glad nobody was injured

Ironton will be just fine. They needed a tough scrimmage and no one expected to walk over D2 Cincinnati Anderson. No injuries and they competed. I was told it was 6-3 not 10-1

If it was 6 to 3 that is what it was last year if I'm not mistaken. Glad to see them scrimmage a talented team. You don't get much out of someone you can outclassed.

Tough scrimmages are good unless you’re just physically outmatched to where it’s men vs. boys. Don’t know if this was it or not.

Anderson scrimmage was 7-1 between varsity squads. All other scores were JV or freshmen. There are many holes in this defense that need cleaned up for sure and the offense struggles against speed. Yesterday was a good experience, it spotlighted what needs fixed or changed. They’ve got time before week 11 to get it right.

Good test for the Tigers, Smart to do it when the result doesn’t really count. One of the many reasons they are successful.

I seen on Irontons Football Facebook page that it was 6-3 Anderson, great scrimmage either way against great competition.

Anderson isn’t known for their defense, but their O can put up some serious points. Ironton won’t see an offense like this in D5.
