The foul difference was significant (20-9) but not as significant as the rebounding differential (39-23)

That’s gotta be the biggest thing to hammer home in the offseason, because they will mature and only get better. Just have to be monsters on the glass and I can see this team hoisting the big trophy next March.

Congrats to the Lady Trojans! work hard in off season, this is only a taste of what is to come. How was the girls junior high team, any jr high players coming in that wlll give a bigger boost to the the solid lineup.

VERY PROUD OF THE LADY TROJANS ON A FANTASTIC SEASON!! YOU MADE LADY TROJANS BASKETBALL HISTORY!! TO ALL THE COACHES AND PLAYERS, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!

I felt what hurt the Lady Trojans more than anything was a 6 minute period in the 2nd quarter where they didn't score a single point, and yet they were only down 9 at the half. The girls fought back in the 2nd half despite all the foul trouble, cutting the lead to 37-32 with just around 3 minutes to play.

It's an exciting future going forward for Portsmouth, and to make it to the Final 4 with almost all the team coming back, and some good players coming in as freshmen, with a 7 division system in place next season, good things are sure to follow. This experience of getting to play at the state level can only help our Lady Trojans. Of the 16 teams in the state tournament, from D1 to D4, there was only 1 other team that started 2 freshmen.

Hopefully our girls will have that hunger to get back on that stage, and I would have to believe that the disappointment of coming up just short of a state championship will fuel their motivation for next season.

The talent of the Portsmouth girls was very evident. But a team mostly of sophomores and freshman going up against juniors and seniors is a tough matchup regardless of talent and potential.

That said, this Portsmouth team is going to be special the next 2-3 years as the girls get stronger and gain experience.
