Just for fun....if Nelsonville-York wanted to join a different conference, who would probably say yes?
All of these conference expansion threads made me wonder............just for fun.............if Nelsonville-York announced today that the Buckeyes are looking to join a new conference and started applying to all conferences in the region, who do you think would say yes?
I know it will never happen, but its the offseason so it's time for hypotheticals!
Just to get started, here are conferences with schools within a one hour drive of Nelsonville:
SEOAL
MVL
MSL

No offense but NY is pretty bad. MSL and MVL are much tougher than the TVC and SEOAL

Based on film and their obvious lack of speed, I think the SEOAL is their only shot. Mainly because they can't afford to say no to anyone.

So you are going off of one season vs. nearly half a century of winning tradition? I can count on one hand the number of losing seasons NY has had since the early 1970s.Raider6309 wrote:No offense but NY is pretty bad. MSL and MVL are much tougher than the TVC and SEOAL

Nelsonville was 44-220 in the SEOAL. NY was 1-19 in the SEOAL. That's 45 years of data
Re: Just for fun....if Nelsonville-York wanted to join a different conference, who would probably say yes?
Nelsonville York is too small for the SeoalRaider6309 wrote:Nelsonville was 44-220 in the SEOAL. NY was 1-19 in the SEOAL. That's 45 years of data
They're are either d5-6
They shouldn't have to compete against d3 schools
So why don't Athens and VC step up to the plate and join the local league for schools their size ??
Seoal
Vinton county d3
Athens d3
Jackson d3
Warren d3
Logan d2
Tvc
Alex d5
Wellston d5
Nelsonville York d5-6
River valley d5
Meigs d4
That's how it should be based on size .

And NY currently plays most of those teams from that data because most of them are in the TVC today.

I feel NY is in a perfect situation. They are the smallest team in the league that has the best football tradition. Never understood why they can't win in the playoffs

There is only one team in the TVC Ohio that is out of place and it isn't NY, they are right where they need to be.

No one would take the Buckeyes. We are too far away from the only other league we could compete well in, that being the OVC.
Championship's are won in the off-season

NY won the TVC in 2007. Crooksville went 1-9. The lone win was NY.Orange and Brown wrote: This has to be in your top 5 of idiotic statements...
You went 1-9. Had a coach fight another coach, have political issues, and kids don't want to play. They ended the season by getting destroyed by Athens. It's very unlikely NY will compete with Athens and Meigs next year

MVL would not take NY. Travel reasons, but if the MVL added a team they would likely be D4 or D3 in football.
There is your just for fun answer.

Didn't the 1979 crooksville state title team have two league loses?teach1coach2 wrote:MVL would not take NY. Travel reasons, but if the MVL added a team they would likely be D4 or D3 in football.

Nelson/York is in a perfect spot. take away the Burrow years the Bucks have been big time in the TVC. NY will do better next year than most think.

Hopefully the new coach turns it around. Next year I have a feeling Vinton will be 6-4

MSL Cardinal would be good for NY.

Frist they need a head coach to stabilize the program!
