Just for fun....if Nelsonville-York wanted to join a different conference, who would probably say yes?

The SOC would be a great fit, let them play against the best DV-DVI league in all Southern and Southeast Ohio. Be great games every week.

Raider,
Crooksville won state in 1977, but they did have two losses that year. One was to Philo, but I don't know who the other one was.

Your gonna find out soon enough.........Raider6309 wrote:NY won the TVC in 2007. Crooksville went 1-9. The lone win was NY.Orange and Brown wrote: This has to be in your top 5 of idiotic statements...
You went 1-9. Had a coach fight another coach, have political issues, and kids don't want to play. They ended the season by getting destroyed by Athens. It's very unlikely NY will compete with Athens and Meigs next year
Championship's are won in the off-season

They're are either d5-6
They shouldn't have to compete against d3 schools
So why don't Athens and VC step up to the plate and join the local league for schools their size ??
Seoal
Vinton county d3
Athens d3
Jackson d3
Warren d3
Logan d2
Tvc
Alex d5
Wellston d5
Nelsonville York d5-6
River valley d5
Meigs d4
That's how it should be based on size .
you're absolutely right poo bear. actually the ovc would be the best fit if they have intentions of continuing to grow. but I think they may not add anymore. I'd love to see them in the ovc, bit of a travel, but hey.that would be awesome. I have a great deal of respect for buckeye football there, their facilities and great fans. nothing but a class act there, in my opinion.

that would make a super powerful conference. ironton, Portsmouth, gallipolis, rock hill, fairland , south point, Chesapeake, coal grove, I think there may be more. having a brain fart.

Only if the top 5 can be categorized as:Orange and Brown wrote:This has to be in your top 5 of idiotic statements...Raider6309 wrote:No offense but NY is pretty bad. MSL and MVL are much tougher than the TVC and SEOAL
1A, 1B, 1C....1Z
2A, 2B, 2C....2Z
3A, 3B, 3C....3Z
4A, 4B, 4C....4Z
5A, 5B, 5C....5Z
That might come close to covering it.

You are a D3 program competing in a D5 and in the case of NY a D6 league.Raider6309 wrote:

The fact that NY not only competed with you but won a number of games against you (absent the 3-year Burrow anomaly) says more about Athens than it says about NY's program.
Will see who competes with who in the coming years. You probably will need to spend the majority of your time on the Athens' Soccer Thread.

Do you ever see a scenario where Nelsonville York , Wellston , Alexander , River valley , and say Trimble would split from the TVC and start own league with all D5-D6 size teams

This is a possibility. I think they were des using it a few years ago.Poo Bear wrote:Do you ever see a scenario where Nelsonville York , Wellston , Alexander , River valley , and say Trimble would split from the TVC and start own league with all D5-D6 size teams

N-Y is in a very good spot! as far as football this year don't be surprised if it takes most of the upcoming season to install the new coaches system. I still say they will have a 6-4 record!
Re: Just for fun....if Nelsonville-York wanted to join a different conference, who would probably say yes?
Dose your data show that during this time it was just Nelsonville ..without the york..can you say around 20 kids on the entire team..not surprising with the outcome of the record. .now do one with the York combination and the winning percentage goes up dramaticRaider6309 wrote:Nelsonville was 44-220 in the SEOAL. Saw on OHSAA where Nelsonville-York needs a game week 3 in 2017 and 2018. Fort Frye should give them a call.EasternDspy wrote:Fort Frye would love to play Nelsonville in sports.

If NY wants back in the SEOAL we would strongly consider adding them

Agree, when they moved to the TVC where they belong in the early 70's because they hadn't been competitive and there was no way at that time they were going to be competitive with Athens, Jackson, Ironton, Meigs, Logan and Gallipolis on a yearly basis. Waverly was in the league with a great basketball team but not football and Wellston was mediocre. N-Y is right where they should be since they combined Nelsonville Greyhounds and Buchtel-York Bruins.NY BUCKS wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2016 11:16 amDose your data show that during this time it was just Nelsonville ..without the york..can you say around 20 kids on the entire team..not surprising with the outcome of the record. .now do one with the York combination and the winning percentage goes up dramaticRaider6309 wrote:Nelsonville was 44-220 in the SEOAL.
