The freshman from Ashland is a player. Saw him twice this summer at Ashland. Played against The Peake twice and against Valley.

Getting closer to the start of the Third Annual Battle in the 740 this Saturday and Sunday at Shawnee State University. Many teams rated high in P Floyds Elite Eight, numerous teams that should challenge for league Championships and long tournament runs playing. Portsmouth area well represented along with standout teams from Athens, Pike, Ross, Lawrence, Meigs and Highland county along with three strong teams from Central Ohio and traditional powerhouse teams from West Virginia and Kentucky make for a strong field and competitive games both Saturday and Sunday A ticket provides admission for all games on the particular day you attend

Snow !!!! I hate snow !!! ... SSU is almost 2 hrs on the nose from the pfloyd casa ... 4-6 of snow may keep me off the roads - we'll see how it pans out Friday & Saturday weather wise ... streamed games could be our friend ... last season SOSA did an OUTSTANDING job both days -they are not involved this year with the Battle in the 740 ... RCSM ? I thought they were saying on their season preview that THEY would be streaming the 740 games from SSU? they aren't advertising streaming the games on SEOPs to let us know however ...

Yes, it seems the closer we get to Saturday, the forecast gets more and more ominous. Several inches of snow by Saturday evening coupled with frigid temps moving in. Sure do hope they are still able to get all the games in on Saturday (and even the three games slated for Sunday) at SSU. If they do proceed with no cancelations, wish safe travels for the teams on buses along with staff and fans. Only 2 full weeks into the season and mother nature is really screwing with us already!

We are very aware of the weather concerns and working with the teams and school administration to finalize the games that will be played. We will keep this site updated with the games

Unfortunate the Harvest Prep vs Chesapeake game got axed but it's to be expected. Probably won't be the only one. Hopefully both schools try to reschedule and play at HP or Chesapeake. Sunday's lineup still unchanged as of now I assume?

Sounds like a great event! 13 games with that many teams is impressive, and it’s awesome to see the Battle Series continuing to grow. Best of luck to all the teams competing at Shawnee State-should be a fun weekend of basketball.

Any of the games actually getting played today?

Not leaving the house, so it’d be nice to have something to put on the TV.

I'm pretty sure I saw that River City Sports Media will be streaming these. I'm headed there today, staying for 2, possibly 3 games, then going home; I'll send the link if they do at the start of the SV vs. Eastern Meigs game.

Eh, that sucks. And when the internet goes, there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s happened to all of us at one time or another.
