Tonight was the Bobcats' final scrimmage against Greenup, and let me tell you... They might be the most slept-on team in the SOC 1 this season. Green played incredibly well, winning the scrimmage 92-82 in 5 quarters. Green played physically, fast, and hard, and shot the ball very efficiently. I will tell you right now, they have more than one person on that basketball team. Knapp has help around him; you all need to watch. This team can seriously compete for the SOC 1 title and even win it.
Knapp, a Senior, will obviously be this team's best player. No doubt about that. He shot the ball efficiently tonight; he moved it around and didn't play selfishly. He is probably at the most athletic he's been if I'm being honest. I mean, he was very physical tonight, was not afraid of contact, and did not settle for 3 as he has in years past. He still has moments that he heat checks, but genuinely, I think he's grown from that a bit. He will definitely be a force this year in the SOC 1.
Satterfield, another Senior, is probably the 2nd best player on the team. He was SO physical tonight, went AT IT defensively, caused lots of turnovers, and he played aggressively. He had a major knee injury last year, which sidelined him the rest of the season, but this kid isn't afraid of it happening again. He isn't afraid of a thing. He used his body and height and attacked the basket more than anyone tonight and was very efficient. He played really fast, too.
Renison, another Senior, is the 3rd best on the team and THE BEST SHOOTER ON THE TEAM. He only missed I kid you not, 2 threes tonight, hit the other 7. This kid has improved A LOT since last season; he went at it on defense, which was a major weakness he had, and was amazing. He is probably the most fundamental kid on the team, too, so he will be a major threat. I feel.
Blevins, a Junior, is the best defender on the team and probably plays faster than anyone. He is not afraid to get his hands dirty and is extremely quick. The kid can also shoot the ball, but he's streaky... mostly what stands out to me is how fast he plays and how physical he is defensively, you know the saying... defense wins championships. His main issue will be that at times he plays out of control, leading to a lot of turnovers, but I feel he will make up for it defensively.
McMackin, another Junior, he's a smart kid. Plays hard, physical, and is another really good defender. He's aggressive and isn't afraid of a little contact. He was quieter than these others tonight but still keep an eye out for him.
Finally, Sampson, a freshman. He is the younger brother of Levi Sampson. I'll tell you, he plays just like him. I mean, for a freshman, his confidence looks great out there, and he has actually really helped the team out. He can shoot the ball, he can attack the rim, score over people... the kid is a Freshman, I know, but he will be scary. He is currently playing both JV and Varsity, but I can guarantee you that he will be all varsity by the end of the first full week of basketball. The kid is scary.
Do not sleep on the Bobcats, that's all I am saying. From what I have watched from all of their scrimmages and especially tonight, this team will genuinely be a scary team. But you have to get by Notre Dame and St. Joe... and I really think they can. Bobcats' first game is on 12/2 against Eastern Pike at Eastern Pike.

My goodness another huge write up from Green’s #1 fan, from the looks of this they’re 2-3 deep and staring at a state title. No one is sleeping on them man

Definitely have seen some people sleeping on them, and I never said anything about a state title run. This is about the SOC 1 title. People are so quick to assume Notre Dame, without watching other teams play. I'm simply writing about the school I graduated from, not hurting anyone, am I? I mean, people need to actually watch games instead of jumping to conclusions. St. Joe will be tough as well; they could win it, and I wouldn't be shocked. Notre Dame could again, and it wouldn't shock me.greygoose wrote: Tue Nov 25, 2025 11:49 pm My goodness another huge write up from Green’s #1 fan, from the looks of this they’re 2-3 deep and staring at a state title. After watching them last night this was wrote up with rose colored glasses, the coaching staff and players looked completely lost. I don’t think that’s a fair evaluation if you’re looking at the full context.Flyeaglesfly wrote: Sun Jan 11, 2026 7:44 amAfter watching them last night this was wrote up with rose colored glasses, the coaching staff and players looked completely lost. Green played a one-point conference game at Notre Dame the night before, on the road, and then turned around and faced a much bigger and more athletic Eastern team less than 24 hours later. That matters. Fatigue, preparation, and matchup all come into play.
Eastern is in a stronger league for a reason — they have size and speed that Green simply doesn’t, with guys like Manley at 6’7” and Leist controlling the paint. That’s a tough matchup for a team still figuring out rotations.
With that said, I do think that Green probably needs to adjust the starting 5 — that’s part of growth. But writing them off as “lost” based on a back-to-back against a superior athlete team ignores context and how basketball actually works.
One game doesn’t define a team — especially when schedule and matchups aren’t equal.

The next ND - Green will be in the furnace.
It will be a tough one for ND. They will at least have two players back that play at least 50% in the rotation.
Also will be more acclimated to their new head coach.
