Great pickup. Ohio State now has imo the best DL class in the country.

I believe they are #5 class now.

BTW, Spence is a grade issues kid, might not get in this year.

Let's just say that grade issue kids might not have as hard a time getting in with Meyer.

He and Geno had a come to Jesus meeting.

The OSU defensive line will be stacked for the next several years with this latest news.........I heard Meyer on an interview and he felt that one of the major reasons for his success at Florida was because of having a great front 7 on defense...........he is well on his way to doing the same thing with the Buckeyes.

He brought in a very very good defensive front. Geesh just think if Michigan still had Rich Rod, OSU is probably bringing in addition to Tom Strobel and Chris Wormley, which imo would have been the best recruiting job EVER up front.

How is he a grade issues kid with a 3.5 GPA? Is it the SAT or ACT scores or something?

Buckeys fell to the #7 spot today

scores on Spence. Obviously do to privacy issues I wasn't told his scores but not good enough to get into UM was what I was told, and same with Pittman who tried to commit to Michigan and was flat out told no. Also, remember that a 3.5 doesn't always equal a 3.5, only core classes count towards your GPA. Take out all the advanced fitness classes, and library worker, and often times kids really have a 2.8. Not saying this is the case with him.

For instance, when I graduated I had a 3.5ish, when I registered with clearing house my core GPA was more around 3.0.

Spence is the best pure pass rusher to play in the state in a long time. He has a long wing span and uses his hands well. He is well versed in a number of pass rush moves. He gets a good up-field push and always seems to be a disruptive force in the backfield. Spence is not just a pass rusher, he is an athlete and is outstanding in pursuit from sideline to sideline. Biography:

As a junior, Spence recorded 101 tackles, 22 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, 9 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries. Spence earned 1st Team All-State honors.

Spence had 55 tackles, 8 sacks, 20 Tackles For Loss and 3 Forced Fumbles as a sophomore.

As a freshman, Spence recorded 9.5 sacks and was named First Team All-Conference.

Pretty tough school to get into grade wise. Can't see them wasting a visit if he didn't have the grades. Notre Dame only accepts 27% of all qualified applicants.
