Ohio State v Marshall to kick off on THURSDAY

Any thoughts?
I hate it... I like the Saturday afternoons in Columbus... Plus when was the last time anything good ever happened for a top team on a Thursday night... Just seems risky...
I understand the exposure and $$ but I just like the Saturday game a bit more...

Pathetic. Ohio State lowering itself to the likes of Conference USA and the Big Least.

I dont think the whole Thursday curse will be in play the first game of the year...Also, top teams usually play on the road on Thursdays nights and that is where the problems are.

Where have you been? Ohio State has been playing MAC teams for years now and this is the second time Marshall has played Ohio State. Go Herd!

I'm actually looking forward to it, and I don't believe that it is "lowering" the standards, live Thursday night games are getting big, and now it's HUGE now the Buckeyes are on the Thursday slate....

uhhh, I believe if you check you will see that SEC, ACC, Big12, and Pac10 have also been playing weeknight games for a couple years now. Looks like the Big Eleven has decided maybe these weeknight games are good idea after all.

As I recall, both Marshall and the University of Cincinnati have given OSU tough games that went down to the wire and nearly beat them.
Seems to me it wasn't "lowering" the quality of competition on their schedule that was the problem for the Buckeyes; it was "underestimating" it!
I'll always say GO HERD and GO BEARCATS in any game against tOSU BUCKEYES.

I know I'll be there. I now have connections to both schools! I was at the last one and have it recorded too. Wow, what a game! It game down to a Nugent 55 yard stadium record FG with 5 sec on the clock for the win. Nugent was carried off the field on the shoulders of his teammates.

I'm sorry, but this is what get me on the Marshall fans, you guys cling to a LOSS to The Buckeyes, since the last 5+ years, thats all you have to cling on. DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THAT WAS A COMPLETE REBUILDING TEAM THAT WAS TYING UP THE LOOSE ENDS, AND THE WORST TEAM TRESSEL HAS HAD YET?? (not countinng his inherited team that went 7-5 in first season)
I am hear to say right now, Marshall will get smacked down, badly... granted, Doc Holliday is heck of a recruiter, but your going against THE BUCKEYES AND 3 CONSECUTIVE TOP 5 RECRUITING CLASSES, so go ahead Marshall and take your one 4 star and 2 or so 3 star recruits, The Buckeyes willl take their 3-4 five star and 4-8 four star recruits and meet you on the field

Thats LOL alright, Carpenter, Hawk, Troy Smith, Ginn, Salley, Holmes, Pittman just to name a few and I mean a few that were on that team. They were JR and not rebuilding they were ranked # 9 at the time and they barely won. Don't take it wrong, I'm a Buckeye fan too but don't make yourself look foolish.

Dont make myself look foolish right??

Yea Troy Smith was on the team, and he was on the bench that game, Justin Zwick was playing that game, and absolutely horrible running game. You want to talk about foolish, go look it up, a 7-4 regular season equals Tressel's worst team he has fielded, so don't you be foolish "Marshall"man

Not only did they finish 7-4 in the regular season, but they started 3-3.
Anyway, Oregon, BSU, TCU, Cincy, GA Tech, and Texas all played on weeknights last year. That's 6 of the 10 BCS Bowl participants.
Plus, the Big 10 has changed nothing. They do not allow weeknight games once class starts. OSU played on a Thursday night in 97 against Wyoming.
