I think that the CG 7th grade still have a shot of winning it, even with the early season loss to Fairland. (GAVE THE GAME AWAY).

8th Grade: Coal Grove in my opinion is the favorite.

River Valley 8th Grade girls have the most talent as a team.

They are talented but the Hornets 8th graders are talened as well and have played together since buddy ball.The way they play shows that not only are they talented but they play team ball.

Overrated? I think if you have only lost 2 games this year and both were in overtime by one point is pretty darn good. This is River Valley's first time on the OVC schedule and have to drive far to every away game. I take my hat off to these girls for what they have done this season. I wish all of the teams a good season. Sometimes we make this about parents or outside opinions. The girls just want to play basketball. I am proud of River Valley and other teams have some good players also.

Just because you win the OVC doesn't always mean you win the tournament as well. Ask the now Freshmen Lady Dragons what happened to them the last two years. The won the OVC regular season but lost to SP in the tournament!

I agree with osumufan. You don't necessarily win both. In fact, I think it's pretty tough to do that.
I think the cart is getting put before the horse here, because the regular season is far from over with several games to be played that could decided the outcome of the ovc. The River Valley-Fairland games (they havent met yet because of a snowday) are going to be really great games to watch, no matter whoever wins. They are all young girls with so much potential and all the teams play their hearts out to win. There is a lot of pressure on the girls to win and we forget how young they are.

cheapeake 8th grade has beaten cg & rv

ya i no wat happened to them last year.i watched it.
but we goin to take ovc tournament just like last year.we aint like last years 8th grade team.

the fairland 8th grade girls beat River Valley in an excellent game last night. River Valley is very tough with some great athletes. Does anyone know their record? Fairland has lost 2 ovc games, and I think Coal Grove has the same record. Not sure about Chesapeake. This is a great race for the championship!

c-peak has gotten alot better then last year they have came very far i do give them credit for that...but i still think coal grove has a chance of winning the ovc...they play River Valley monday. that will be a good game also both teams need to better bring their A-game..

Way to go River Valley! That's an awesome score to beat Coal Grove by that much. I think it's been pretty difficult for them to win any on the road.

It will be an exciting match up Between Fairland and River Valley no matter who wins.

The Fairland girls came out on top tonight against a tough River Valley. Fairland has a talented group of girls, winning the OVC last year and this year.

Now comes the tournament!! Good luck to everyone, this is gonna be a fantastic tournament with so many good teams.
