Hate to be referred to as older folks but I was at work and listening on the radio in our lab. The game wasn't broadcast but I remember them breaking in to say USA had just beaten the Russians. You have to remember this game wasn't shown live but on tape delay...so the great call by Al Michaels actually hours after the fact...but still a great memory. USA.... USA..... USA!
PS, There also was a little matter of hostages being held in Iran while this was going on!!!!!!!!!
