Freshwater Jellyfish - Seen 'em?

A couple day ago I was talking to a guy about what was stuck to my outboard. I told him it might be jellyfish that are dying in the lake. He stood back and said, 'I've never heard of freshwater jellyfish' To which I replied to him that I have only seen them in one lake around these parts, Lake Vesuvius and clear back in the 1980's. I was wondering if anyone else has seen them in other lakes? They're about the size of a penny...fairly clear in appearance, kinda a milky white with tentacles hanging down

sure have, every year out to Mineral Springs lake, Peebles Oh. You can see bunches of them starting in August. they look like a little minature ocean type. about dime size. they are very plentiful there.

I'm pretty sure that's what's stuck on my outboard. These little clear things are floating everywhere. They've lost their shape but I'm still thinking that's what they are. I don't know if they suffer a big kill right after the weather starts turning cold or not. They're sticking like glue so that's what makes me think it's something that was organic

I'm not putting my outboard under a pressure wash...lol, if you wax it 4 to 6 times a year, stuff just don't stay if you wash it gently with a wee bit of soap and water
