Jason and Jeff said on the post-game show that Nelsonville-York had defeated Federal Hocking. On the schedule, that game is listed as 7:00, but they said they had confirmation that it was played earlier and N-Y won.
So the Fighting Tigers will face Nelsonville-York at the Convo on Mon, March 8 at 8:00 PM -

It was the Freshman coach. I support the boys, the refs were leaning alot towards Ironton, but the coaching staff at CG is non existant. No plays whatsover, not smart enough to clear the floor out so they do not get trapped everytime, and not teaching them to NEVER pick up your driblle when you cross mid court, and pretty classless for not getting subs in sooner then 2 minutes when you are down 20 something. No Class. Whether you are up 20 or down twenty, they all show up everday for practice and u cheat them out of playing in a Sectional game, could be their last one. Go Hornets, your fans support you. We will start over next year and continue improving. It is sad to see a school have to drop down from D2 to D3 to half win game in sports.

It was a great game tonight. I am so proud of our Tigers and the great game that they played. PS ironton has been in D3 for atleast 11 years. If you go to http://www.ohsaa.org/sports/bk/boys/pastresults.htm it shows you all the past playoff results. Ironton was in D3 on the last tornament that they had listed in 1999.

Was Coal Grove Dawson-Bryant ever as big as D2? I don't think so, but I didn't look it up.
So who was it that "dropped down from D2 to D3 to half win game in sports"? I still don't get it.

total domination by ironton, too much defensive pressure and i see alot of teams having trouble with this

Nice win by the Tigers and I thought the Hornets played a very good game, lots of hustle and never gave up. Very physical at times....looked like a football scrimmage under the basket for a while.

Now on to the Convo for a match-up with another well respected opponent in the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes who defeated Federal Hocking to advance to the district.
