Burg @ Oak Hill 1/18

Thoughts?
Oak Hill will be hungry after suffering back to back losses. Oak Hill is a tough place to play..
Burg looks to stay unbeaten in the SOC and on top of the SOC 2 standings..
I look for a low scoring game with the difference being in guard play. Oak Hill will pack it in on a zone to shut down Stegman and it will be up to Burgs guards to win this game for Burg. JMO.

If Oak Hill packs it in with a zone, they will be in for a long night. Burg can shoot the 3 quite well this year and the zone will not work.

GO PIRATES!!

This game should be a good battle. I agree with 4th-n-goal! Oaks in no way shape or form can bring the game plan they have for the past few years. The Zone on Stegman and stall game will NOT work. I watched Oaks play Webster and they simply stalled..most boring game ever, open 5 is all they ran on O...and it got them the win, as it has worked against Burg in the past. But, Burg can shoot the lights out now, Schank, Massie, Mcbee, and Ballard are all scoring outside...if Oaks play zone it will be a shooting party for Burg..I think Stegman will have a rough time either way, because Oaks have some BIG boys in the post (not B-ball players) just big guys, and they owned Webster last week..(and their play got a little questionable). I know this game will be a physical one from the start. If Stegman gets in foul trouble quick, that will be Oaks only hope I believe. not to be too critical, but Stegman can get flustered easily and he will need to keep his composier as the Oaks are going to pound it down low all night with him.

I can honestly say this not only is a great battle between to physical teams, the coaching battle at hand is great too :)

Barrick Vs Persin. im sure Norm still has a sour taste left after that 3rd-times-the-charm loss the Pirates handed oak hill last season in the sectionals. I wish I didn't have an obligation to go to Valley tonight, I'd rather be in Oak Hill ;)

I was personally at the Oak Hill vs Burg game in Jackson last year. I have never been to a high school game where the gym was so electric. Bendolph (x-one year Burg player) and Ondera were trading shots shots like crazy. I hope tonight's game is a sequal to the last one! Go Burg!

Again, totally different style coming to Oak Hill tonight from the Burg, interested to see how Persin makes adjustments!

Oaks win 48-37 and reclaim a share of the SOC lead.

Burg just doesn't match up with Oak Hill when they don't have someone going off like Bendolph did last year. That zone gives them fits.

That zone gives everyone fits! Good to see Oak Hill bring Burg back to the SOC II pack.*

The SOC2 is wide open with everyone having at least one loss.

The SOC is down this year. Makes for Parody, but not very many good teams. What happened to the Burg team that was going to kill the zone with their 3 point shooting?

4 good teams in SE ohio. Chesapeake, Ironton, Piketon, and Portsmouth!

It was just one of those nights for the Burg. They couldnt buy a bucket. No excuses here, they just got beat.. Like I said earlier the differnce would be guard play and they all struggled shooting last night.. Burg seems to always struggle at Oak Hill..I usually dont say much about refs but WOW that was horrible on both ends.. The one call for a 3 pointer when the kid was a good 2 feet inside the arc was unreal..I look for a differnt out come when Oaks come back to the Burg..

Congrats to Oak Hill on the win last night. The big boys on the inside where too much for the smaller, leaner Burg players. Cannon had an outstanding inside game. Outside shots for Burg did not fall like they have in past games.

Bebalin must be one of those "bleacher refs"! They NEVER miss a call do they!
