If healthy can make a run towards the final 4 in D2....if things aren’t clicking great can be beaten in districts

Fairland will have a great season......whether the season ends at the Scottenstein Center we shall see, but I honestly can't see any SE D2 team this year with more talent than the Dragons. I do think it will be somewhat tougher, though, for FHS to reach the Final 4 as a D2 school. It is very doable, though. How the brackets are aligned always makes things interesting.

Fairland has a very tough schedule. Does anyone know how the bracket is laid out this year? Would Fairland have to win Athens region and play someone in Columbus region to make it to final four? Im pretty sure thats how it was last year but i know they change it around.

Anyone seen the Dragons schedule for this year? Heard it was a tough one! Beachball Classic in Myrtle just for starters.

Nope. The Southeast and East each have 2 District champions that will go to Athens. The East appears to be pretty down this season, so it looks good for the SE to get a team to Columbus in D2. The District is very top heavy, so it's likely that both of the District Finals matchups will be excellent games.

Big difference between D2 and D3, but if there ever was a team that is built to deal with the change, it is this year's Dragons. Should be a really fun team to watch!

I think Cunningham will take his spot and i think he's a better all around defensive player. The Dragons will miss him on the offensive side of the ball but Cunningham can score without a problem.

You're allowed to ask but with todays politically correct Cowboys looming in the shadows, you'll be labeled a hater of this child, who is probably 18 going on 19 being he was a holdback...It could scar him for life....Once Basketball games are played everyone will know what happened....Most already know...

If what I found out this morning is true then it’s not good.

Losing Short has to hurt. Excellent scorer and if bench guy can take his place then bench isn’t as strong which is key in D2

Fairland will only go 7 deep now. Lambiotte and Mundiak will be the top two off the bench. Neither are great scorers and played sparingly last year but in the games I saw, Mondiak is a good defender

Fairland is going to be awesome...but no Short might be the difference between regionals and state

Best of luck to the Dragons....have great program down through the lower levels

Short is a big loss... The bench still has some depth
Lambiotte, Mondlack, Fisher, Wilcoxon

Fairland went Westerville North to play Westerville and Hilliard Darby. Fairland won 5 of the 6 quarters. I heard they looked really good so we will see how much losing short actually hurts.

I don't think so. Short leaving will hurt but Wilcoxen is long and athletic and will help on the rebounding side of things. This might actually free up some shots for some players. I saw a few games last year where there wasn't enough shots and kids were forcing it a bit. Fairland became quicker defensively with this but maybe a little less potent on the offensive side. That is if Cunningham can control his emotions (BIG IF).
