Well most people probably did not think it would be these two teams playing against each other for the district championship! Nevertheless this is the outcome and I think it will be a really exciting game. I was hoping South Point would get to play Ironton personally. Instead you got the #3 and #4 teams playing instead of #1 and #2. Just goes to show in this sport anything can happen and there are always upsets!


I am rooting for the Lady Pointers to win...so goodluck South Point on Saturday!

Go Pointers! I hope I can make the trip to Waverly. We need to support these girls. They have a bright future, with being such a young team!

They are led by a State Championship winning coach and a bunch of girls who just know how to win. Last season, they reached the District Finals in D4, before losing to South Webster. Ashley Jordan is a very good player and I believe they only have a couple of seniors, they start a freshman at the point as well.

Personally I would have liked to seen a rematch with South Point and Ironton since they both played each other the first game of the season. But since Ironton is out and the Pointers are the big dog in the hunt, I will alway root for a local team and wish you the best of luck. Hopefully all of Southern Ohio is too. You have a good team and I can't see you losing this one. Go Pointers!

I agree with OVC1999. They are an extremely young team. Isn't Mayo their only senior starter this year? Hate to see her go! But I know that Fletcher and Bradburn are only freshmen this year...which you would never know it by watching them play! Those two girls are so talented. They will also have Taylor and Leighty back next year too. I also think Goodall will get a lot more playing time next year, but she has done a good job as a freshman this year as well.

Did Adena loose anything from last years team? For a team to move up a division they are doing very good!!! Good luck to both teams!!

sendem- They lost, I believe 4 seniors, and a junior who decided not to come back out. The Jr. would've been their PG, which is why the Givens girl(Fr.) is starting. They return all 3 of the Snyder girls and Ashley Jordan(long, lefty)

They played Huntington close twice and Unioto close once, so they have played with some very good competition as well.

I think the Pointers can win this one. Go Sooners ya know!

dani: Thanks, I thoutht that they would be a SLEEPER this year cause they played SW in the DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP last year, pretty tough, an I thought they was YOUNG then.

Well, since our lady tigers are out I have seen both teams play Adena will keep coming at you, But I think as long as you stay out of foul trouble they can be beat. I am going with our local south point. GO POINTERS
