Can I get a preview for each team? I know Eastern has Jenna Burdette back, Waterford has Emily Brown and Belpre has Allison Flowers. But other than that, I don't know who's got what.

Eastern starting lineup will probably be Jenna Burdette, Jordan Parker, Erin Swatzel, Ashley Putman, and Hayley Gillian. The 5th spot will be open for competition

Don't forget Drayer from Waterford. Best all round player for Waterford.

Hope Federal Hocking has more young ladies interested in playing this year. Last year was a tough one for the "Iron Five", but they certainly battled every single game. I look for Jeff McKibben to lead this group of girls with a good mindset and coaching ability. Good Luck to the Lady Lancers this season.

Why does the schedule have South Gallia playing Waterford back to back?

I have seen it in other places also. I think one of those games should be Belpre. Thanks

Late September prediction:

1. Eastern- Burdette is too much to handle for the rest of the league.
2. Waterford- Brown and Drayer back, should be another fun year to watch Eastern/Waterford.
3. Belpre- Flowers is back, who I believe was in the top 3 in scoring in the league last year.
4. South Gallia- Not too sure what they have back, but was competitive last year.
5. Wahama- Got the big girl back (don't remember name)
6. Trimble- Lost Spears and Savage.
7. Miller- Should be very improved from last year.
8. Southern- don't know much about them.
9. Fed Hock- went 0-20 last year, but they do have the big girl (Singer) who has potential.

I dont see anyone beating Eastern. The Burdette Girl is by far the best player in the league and will just carry Eastern. The Parker girl is also gonna be a really good player for them, I would be shocked if Eastern Lost a league game this year.

South Gallia lost two starters including it's point guard. Should be strong at center and forward positions but will have to wait and see how the guards play. SG won't finish any lower than 4th but could move higher depending on back court play.

I believe that the guard play for SG will be just fine. The pg spot will be young but if she can limit the turnovers I believe that SG will be sitting pretty especially with the 2, 3, 4, and 5 spots consisting of upper classmen.

SG should be very athletic...with Canaday,Bostic and Caldwell...Dont know about their depth tho with alot of girls (who could help them) choosing not to participate in summer ball this year....Of course these girls' parents are the first ones to complain to the coach..the AD...administration as to why doesnt my daughter play??? IF SG can find a PG and stay out of foul trouble they should be an easy 3rd place team and IF everything falls into place COULD challenge Eastern and Waterford for the top spots!!!

Remember I said IF things fall into place!!!! I know that Eastern and Waterford are two of the better div 4 programs in this part of the state!!! But SG should be very good!!! Good luck to all!!!

My predictions:

Waterford will run the score up on everyone but Eastern in the league. They will use the excuse, "that's how we play. Should we tell our girls not to shoot? Our subs deserve to get a chance to score too."

Which ever one wins the league, probably Eastern, will be soundly defeated in the regionals.

Should be great fun had by all.

Based on what? Neither Waterford nor Eastern has been blown out in regionals. In fact Waterford was a hail mary three by the now suspended Harvest Perp team from advancing to the state.
Seems like you have been on the other end of the score a few times with Waterford. Don't blame them because they have girls that work hard year round. I am not affilated with Waterford in any way and I don't see why they should do anything but play their game. Don't take nights off just because girls basketball is nothing more than rec league at your school.
