Curious to see what everyone's thoughts are in the 3 DIII sectionals.

This sectional consists of:

Chesapeake, Dawson Bryant, Fairland, Ironton, Minford, Oak Hill, Portsmouth, South Point, Valley, and Wheelersburg.

It would be great if we could get some updated records posted . I'll post what I know approximately as far as records go.

However, the order below is the order I would seed them in.

1. Wheelersburg 13-1
2. Fairland 9-3
3. Ironton 10-4
4. Oak Hill 8-6
5. Coal Grove 8-5
6. Chesapeake 6-6
7. Valley 7-7
8. Minford 7-7
9. South Point 4-10
10. Portsmouth 0-13

Does anyone have an updated list of how this sectional will be seeded?

Can someone update the records and give an opinion on how the seeding will go?

I did a quick search on the Ironton Tribune and Portsmouth Daily Times web-sites and this is fairly accurate of current records through Thursday's games (2/5).

Wheelersburg 17-1
Fairland 16-4
Ironton 15-5
Chesapeake 11-9
Valley 11-10
Oak Hill 11-9
Coal Grove 9-10
Minford 7-10
South Point 4-13
Portsmouth 2-17

The top 3 are a lock for 1, 2 and 3. the rest of the sectional is up for grabs. It will be one of those years that it almost a coin toss, with everyone having a shot to win a sectional game.

Do you know how the sectional bracket is laid out?

2 playing winner of 7/10
1 playing winner of 8/9

All of this is based off of quality wins and Chesapeake and Coal Grove have not beaten anybody.

Coal Grove's best win is over Chesapeake. Chesapeake's best win is NOBODY.

Coal grove and chesapeake play this week.Chesy took ironton to the wire both times and Alexander to 2 OT.Same team beat oak hill in sectional last year.They have a pretty good team.wouldn't want to play them at tourney time.

I couldn't agree more. But at the end of the day, it's about winning games.

With 4 teams advancing from this sectional, the seeding may end up being a lot of people trying to get into the spot that will be the most favorable for them in the district. I honestly could see the top 3 from this sectional all winning their districts.

Most people will look at the win-loss records but Fairland should be the number one seed. They have beaten Wheelersburg and split with Ironton. They absolutely destroyed Oak Hill. I am calling it now that Fairland will be district champs for the 4th year in a row.

6 ovc teams to 4 soc teams, I can see the ovc teams be ranked a little higher , course it depends a lot on what coaches like each other . fairland will be 1 seed.

Tornadocager, as I expected Chesapeake beat Coal grove by double digits .And if Fairland isn't the No. 1 it would be a travesty. They handled Wheelersburg easily when they played two weeks ago.Fairland had the better team and was deeper in every position on the floor.

4-5-6 could go in any order.oak hill has Abby haislip, Chesapeake has Kaylee Curry, Valley has Lexi Doddridge.Can't wait to see if the coaches are honorable and vote on merit or there own personal gain.I believe that most will vote the right way.
